Perri rushed to get around. She had to make a good impression on Toby's mother. He was taking her to meet her, and she needed to look good. Sophisticated, but not too pompous, pretty, but not overly so. She had to look her absolute best. After throwing everything from her closet onto her bedroom floor, then cleaning it all up, she had found the perfect outfit. It was classy, yet sexy. Perri had fitted herself into the perfect little black dress and pink ankle boots, then slipped the pink jacket over. Adding the proper jewelery, she set to her makeup.
It had to be perfect. She did her makeup while her nails magically painted themselves, to speed up the process. It always took her long to get around, and Perri never felt like she had enough time to do herself up for Toby. For this occasion alone she had set aside two hours. Any minute the door would ring and she wasn't even done yet. Perri slipped some cash into her pocket, not wanting to be burdened by a purse. Just as she pursed her lips, mixing her lipstick, the doorbell rang. Hurried, she fluffed her hair as she walked to the door.

Toby didn't look that different from usual, spare for the fact that he had taken the time to shave that morning. He was not looking forward to taking Perri to meet his mum, she got really weird around his girlfriends, he was hoping the old woman wouldn't scare Perri off. Especially because he was hoping to get serious with her. When his girlfriend answered the door Toby grinned, she looked stunning, as always. "You look fantastic," said Toby, placing a kiss on Perri's cheek so he wouldn't mess up her lipstick. "Are you ready to go?"

Perri smiled and brushed her cheek against Toby's in an affectionate gesture. "Thanks, love, as do you," she replied with a smile. "Let's go," she replied, ushering him outside into the cold. Producing her wand from a special pocket in her jacket, she performed all the locking charms, then took Toby's arm. "I'm nervous," Perri admitted, striding down the walkway.

"Ah, don't worry about my mum too much," said Toby, "she's downright insane, but she wouldn't hurt a fly." Truth be told, Toby was probably much more nervous about this meeting than Perri was- his mother had scared away a few past girlfriends, although Perri was a bit sturdier than the others were. Toby had also been reluctant because his father had gone away to Romania for a while, he wouldn't be there to keep his mother in check.

Perri nodded, but said nothing. In truth, she was scared that Toby's mother wouldn't like her, approve of her. Perri wanted to continue having a serious relationship with Toby. Who knew? Maybe one day she'd wake up and find him next to her, in their own home with a family. Perri blushed a little at the thought and didn't declare her idea aloud. She wasn't sure what Toby was going to think about that, and she was rather scared to bring it up. They had been together for over six months, and they were as close as ever.

Toby hoped that his words had not gone the wrong way, he had been lightly joking, although Perri seemed incredibly nervous about the whole thing. He had half a mind to just send an owl to his mum saying that he was ill and they would have to reschedule (preferably after his father had returned from Romania), but he figured there was no turning back now. "Just relax, I'm sure she'll adore you," said Toby, giving his girlfriend an encouraging smile. He then disapparated with her on his arm to his parents' house, landing lightly on his feet on the doorstep.

Perri held on tightly to Toby as the Apparated. In a quick second, Perri was on her tiptoes, giving Toby a soft kiss on his cheek. No sooner her lips had found his skin, the door flew open. Perri jumped a bit. In the doorway stood whom Perri assumed to be her boyfriend's mother. "Perenelle, dear, and Toby. Welcome," the woman called warmly, stepping forward and embracing Perri. The young woman was taken aback, but hugged the women all the same. "Hi," she managed sheepishly.

"Well come in, it's cold out there," said she, ushering the pair of him inside. His mother could be described as a cute older lady, short with a little bit of extra weight on her. She was starting to get soem wrinkles, they weren't too deep yet, but her hair that had once been a deep, curly, brown was streaked with grey. "Take your shoes off if you don't mind," said his mother. Toby obediently stepped out of his shoes. It felt odd to be in the hosue again, he had grown up here, but now as the children were much older it had been extensively redecorated.

Perri slipped off her heels and smiled a bit. The house was beautiful, homey. From the look on Toby's face, she'd say it had been recently redecorated. Toby's mother eyed Perenelle, scruntizing her. Perri blushed, but smiled softly. "So, you two serious? Because I'm not getting any younger, and I'm looking for some grandkids," Mrs. Weasley said finally. Perri felt her face pale, and she cleared her throat. "Erm, no, not that serious," she replied, flushing deeply.

Toby too turned a deep shade of red, they hadn't so much as gotten to tea before his mother had dove straight into forbidden territory. "Mum, you promised you'd behave," said Toby. She beamed up at him, as her eldest son had nearly a foot's height over her. He had always looked like the male version of his mother, but with his father's height. "You know, your father is interested in this too," said she, gesturing for them to follow her to the dining room. "Yeah, but he hasn't been hounding every girl I've spoken to since I was fourteen," Toby said under his breath, making sure Perri was his only audience.

Perri managed an uneasy laugh. She wrapped an arm around Toby's waist, her blush subsiding. The dining room was quaint, and quite cute. As she looked up at Toby, she smiled to herself. The thought planted in her head by Toby's mother was a nice one. Her, marrying Toby, then having a family with him. She smiled openly, leaning into Toby and looking to Mrs. Weasley. "It's alright Toby, dear. Mrs. Weasley," she started, but Toby's mother cut her off. "Please, call me Helen honey, it's less formal." Perri nodded, then continued. "Um, Helen, I'm not totally... dismissing that idea," she admitted, with a blush, looking up at her boyfriend, whom she loved dearly.

Toby smiled a bit, although at the same time he felt that his heart was soaring at the mere idea of having a family with Perri, and that she at least had not shot down the idea entirely. Perhaps now was not the best time, but for future reference... His mother beamed even more widely at Perri, and then gestured for them to sit down. Always the gentleman, Toby pulled out a chair for his girlfriend before seating himself. Within seconds a floating tea set made their way to them, serving them quickly. "By no means do I intend to be intrusive, but when might you two be settling down?" she asked. Toby held back a groan.

Perenelle was now a little used to these questions, at least enough so not to choke on her tea as the next one came about. She hurriedly put down her cup, surpressing the giggle that was bubbling at the sight of Toby's expression. Perenelle smiled, leaning against Toby and patting the top of his hand. "Not now, obviously. But, soon," she promised, looking up at Toby with a devious twinkle in her eye. Sure, soon was very vague, but it could be interpretted various ways, which would hopefully get Helen off the subject, for now.

Toby mentally reminded himself to relax a bit. He could only hope that his mtoher was not pressuring Kherington half as hard as she was to him, it would be downright miserable for the poor girl. He smiled a bit at Perri, finding it kind of odd that he was looking more to her for support, he had thought it would be vice versa. His mother seemed satisfied with her response and beamed once more. "So, mum, how are you holding up, dad's been gone a while," Toby said, changing the subject. She waved her hand at him. "I can handle being alone for a while, he's having fun with his friends out there," she replied.

Perri smiled softly, taking a sip of her tea. Her hand found Toby's, and she took it and held it gently. Helen saw this and smiled broadly, and Perri stifled a laugh. The woman was very bent on seeing some grandchildren soon. Perri was aware Toby had a sister, Kherington, who had been in her year at school. Hopefully the poor girl wasn't hounded as much as her elder brother.
