"Hmm?" Isaac said, although he had heard what Luke had said as clearly as if he had shouted it. Sometimes he wished that he didn't hear so well, maybe it might make him come off as close to normal. "Oh, no, nothing," said Isaac, knowing that he didn't sound terribly convincing. He ran a hand through his pale blonde hair, then decided to go agaist his obvious faking. "You, um, haven't spoken to Jenna recently, have you?" asked Isaac.

Luke shook his head slowly, wondering where Isaac was going with this. He had only seen Jenna once since they had broken up, but it was from a distance and Luke had not approached her. "No, I haven't spoken to her since she threw a ring at my head," Luke replied, making it clear that it didn't want to talk too much about Jenna unless he had to. Luke would be interested if something was wrong, but seeing as he still had feelings for his ex-girlfriend, he tried to avoid talking about her.

Isaac's intense mental debate continued. He knew that if Jenna had told Luke that his friend wouldn't be secretive about it, at least not with him, so he obviously didn't have a clue. He bit his lip, feeling in an increcibly difficult situation. After a moment of thought, Isaac decided he was going to tell Luke. They were best friends, that was what they did, he would have appreciated knowing about Xavier while Miranda was still carrying him. "She's pregnant," Isaac said, then braced himself for a reaction.

"What?!" Luke exclaimed, immediately jumping to his feet. A million things went through his head at once, but he couldn't quite figure out what to do. Luke found himself sitting slowly back down. "Damn it," he muttered, running a hand through his hair in disbelief. It was then that Luke's train showed up. He knew that there was no way he could leave now, though, not with Jenna being pregnant. Knowing the truth, Luke couldn't just leave her to fend for herself, he would have to find her.

Isaac flinched a bit, what with his super-sensitive hearing and the lack of sleep. He figured that his response most likely would have been the same, or at least similar. He immediately returned to his mental debate, thinking now that he probably shouldn't have told Luke, he didn't want Jenna angry with him. But then if Luke had eventually found out he would probably get mad for Isaac having not told him before... "If you don't want to talk to her I understand," Isaac said cautiously, "Gabby and I can help her out financially if she needs it."

"No," Luke said quickly, not wanting Isaac to feel like he had to help out in any way. This was really Luke and Jenna's problem to figure out, and Luke knew that now he had to go back and try to talk to his ex-girlfriend. Sure, things hadn't ended well, but he wasn't about to leave now that he knew that she was pregnant. "Isaac, I can't leave now, you know that," Luke replied. "I'll talk to her, it'll be alright." Luke said the words more to reassure himself than his friend; he wasn't sure what Jenna would say if he just showed up at her apartment. But Luke was determined, he wanted to make things right.

Isaac swallowed forcefully, and then nodded. He had known that the news would have struck his friend in a way like that, but he was just thankful that Luke had not taken the "it's not my problem" approach to it like Wolfgang had done to Angel. If Luke had, Isaac might have to hurt him. Of course, he had not been much help to Miranda, but she had never told him she was pregnant in the first place. Isaac would still probably force some money onto Jenna like he had doen with Angel. Even if she never touched a knut Isaac would feel better if she had something to fall back on, just in case.
