Liam signaled the barkeep that he wanted another glass, and after a moment the man slid him a full glass of scotch. He took a quick sip of it, the days had turned quite stressful for him. Liam had no idea how his wife handled being headmistress, Divination professor, and heading the Order. The stress of everything was getting to him, so he had gone to have a couple of drinks, but had wound up having just a little more than he had planned on having. Liam didn't often get drunk, he either got really grouchy or really giddy.
"Ah, curse it all," Liam mumbled, his Irish accent especially thick through his drink. Today was probably going to be another of the irritated drunk kind of days. He was just grateful that Hogwarts was out for the winter holidays, that way he didn't have to get up and teach the next day. Liam hiccuped a bit, not paying attention a the door to the pub opened.

Scott walked in, pushing up his sleeves. He ran a hand through his hair, sighing heavily. Suddenly, a familiar Irish accent rang through the pub. Scott snapped to attention, coming face-to-face with a drunken Liam. He snickered. "Out late tonight, brother?" he teased, chuckling a bit. Ordering a round, he took a seat across from his brother.

"Aye," said Liam, looking down into his half-gone glass of scotch. He had probably had a bit too much for his usual standards, though if it had been his father that had turned up rather than his youngeer brother, he would probably be talked into a lot more. Liam took a sip of his drink. "What brings you out here tonight?" Liam asked.

"Same as you: stress," Scott explained as the barista brought his scotch to him. He thanked her, tipped her, and then wrapped a hand around his glass. He leaned back casually, taking a sip of his drink. "I'm scared for my family too, Liam," he replied quietly. The alcohol felt good, trickling down his throat. Beth was overwhelmed taking care of little Chris by herself, and he felt terrible for it. It hurt him, that he couldn't help her out, because he had work.

Liam hiccuped again, slightly drunk brain beginning to wonder if having so much was a good idea. Are you Irish or not, you fool? Liam thought to himself after draining his glass. If the barkeep came back he would probably get some water this time around. Or maybe a butterbeer, something that was relatively weak. "'Tis an unfair time, brother," said Liam, "makes you think 'bout things. Like what happens when you die, or why the hell it's worth living." Yes, he had turned into a very melancholy drunk...

Scott rolled his eyes. "Stow it, you crazy drunk," he replied with a chuckle, draining his scotch. It never took long for Scott to feel a little tipsy. Already he was a bit disoriented, and after a few more scotches he'd be wasted. Sometimes he cursed the ability, sometimes he thanked it. The barista wordlessly brought him another round without bothering to ask. She was smart, and could probably tell how tired he was. Scott made a mental note to send an extra tip the woman's way.

Liam felt as if the ground beneath him were rocking like the deck of a ship. He probably wouldn't be able to walk straight. He might eeven end up taking a room for the night and the majority of the next day to rid himself of the hangover that would no doubt present itself as the alcohol wore off. "Many things I may be, crazy be not one of them," Liam mumbled, then hiccuped again.
