Safira was anxious that morning, she had taken the NEWT exams at the ministry last month, and was told she would receive her scores that morning. She had tried to delay her increasing anticipation by preparing an elaborate breakfast, but found that she was too nervous to eat much of anything, or it could be the morning sickness. Now in her third month of pregnancy, Safira was showing a bit, but her nausea had gotten terrible. Now she could only eat whatever she had a craving for. It was supposed to go away by the time she got to the fourth month, but for Safira, that was far too long to wait. Just like the NEWT results she was sitting around for.
Her heart practically leaped into her throat when she saw the regal-looking Ministry owl swooping in for a landing on the kitchen windowsill. Safira relieved the owl of its burden, and with fumbling fingers tore open the envelope and pulled out the official paper, almost afraid to look. When she finally did, Safira could have laughed with relief:
Defense Against the Dark Arts: E Charms: O Potions: O Herbology: O Ancient Runes: E
Safira placed the parchment down on the table, intending to go about cleaning up after the breakfast she didn't eat. But before she could even clear her own plate the doorbell rang. Puzzled about who it might be, Safira went to answer the door, only to see...

Raychel, smiling gently at Safira. "Hello," she replied softly, her body heavily covered in shadow. She was extremely uncomfortable right now, what with the slightly risen sun behind her. Raychel tried not to let the discomfort show as she smiled at Safira. "Just came to check up on you," Raychel finished, elaborating on why she was there.

"I really appreciate it, please come in," said Safira, practically beaming. Needless to say, she was getting lonely because Demetri was away teaching, and couldn't exactly get away to see her every day. Safira flicked her wand and the blinds closed, blocking out the rays of the rising sun so her friend would be a bit more comfortable. With another quick nonverbal spell, the mess she had made in the kitchen began cleaning itself up.

Raychel stepped over the threshold, smiling. She had become quite acquainted with both the Oriole's company and their household. It was evident that Safira was using what money she had from the Malfoy family to good use. Already she was in a beautiful position, with a gorgeous house and car, and plenty of tasteful decor and food. Of course, she was a sixteen year old drop out, married and pregnant far too young. But Raychel was happy to be in the company of the girl and her husband, they were a pleasant people.

"Perhaps we might be a bit more comfortable in the basement?" Safira suggested, "there aren't any windows down there." She could help but smile, she loved when she got the chance to interact with other people, she had been afraid of leaving the house on her own since the attack on the Wimbourne Wasps stadium- so she didn't get out often. Though she had not missed a prenatal yoga class yet, she was at the studio without fail at seven thirty Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings.

Raychel had been removing her cloak when Safira had spoken. Smiling, she nodded graciously. "That would be lovely, thank you," she replied with a polite bow of the head. She followed Safira into the basement. Recently, Raychel had been looking into houses in the neighborhood. It had always been Raychel's dream to live by water, and the bay was beautiful. Also, it would give her a great reason to visit Safira more often. Raychel was extremely protective over the young girl and her small family. It was a maternal instinct that she had never known, but she would guard the Orioles with the ferocity of a mother bear with her cubs.

Safira lead the way to the basement from the door in the kitchen, being cautious on the stairs. She could not afford a fall in her condition. She looked around, they didn't keep much all the way at the bottom, there were a couple of boxes, and no doubt a few spiders lurking around in the darker corners. Safira quietly transfigured two of the boxes into comfortable-looking armchairs, and delicately sat down. Her tiny bump was a bit more obvious while she was sitting, though could still be easily hidden under her loosely-fitting top. "How have you been? I haven't seen much of you recently," said Safira, smiling.

Raychel took the seat across from Raychel, kicking her shoes off and curling her legs under her. At Safira's question, she smiled. "I've been..." Raychel paused, attempting to come up with the right word. "Alright. I've been alright," she finished with a half-smile. "I've been looking at a few houses in the neighborhood. It's beautiful and I've been looking for a place to settle down." Raychel was pleased with herself, and pleased with the houses she was looking into. There was one house just a little ways down, backing right up into the sparkling bay. "So how are you? I've been checking in with Demetri, though not as often as I would like," she replied, smiling softly.

"I'm getting on fair enough I suppose," said Safira, she still had fierce cravings, and for the most random things. Just yesterday she had eaten strawberry yogurt with olives mixed in it, along with a side of peanut butter toast. "I get lonely in this house all by myself, though," Safira added, frowning slightly, "but it's wonderful that you're looking at the area, it's a pleasant place to live. Quiet, but nice." Safira would much rather live in a luxurious penthouse in the city, rather than the quaint neighbourhood, but she knew that Aurora Emily was not going to be her and Demetri's only child, she wanted a large family. Thus a house would serve them better.

Raychel subconsciously scratched at her forearm, where the Dark Mark was concealed. That was the reason she wanted quiet seclusion, a new home. Isabelle had known where she lived. Isabelle could find her. More and more, Raychel was becoming less and less certain she could take the older vampire without trouble. The woman was cunning; she had proved that time and time again. Raychel managed a smile, carefully drawing her hand away from her arm. "I'm sure you'll be even better once Demetri can come visit," Raychel replied with a knowing smile. Still, she believed Safira would be able to handle it, the girl was exceedingly strong for her age.

"I'm sure of that too, I miss him so much," said Safira, it was depressing going to bed alone, waking up to find that she was the only one in the house. Over the summer she had grown quite comfortable spending almost all her time with him, just the two of them in the house. But then she had gotten pregnant... Safira wished that it hadn't happened, but there was nothing she was going to do about it now. Safira was going to have Aurora, no question about it.

Raychel nodded. "I can imagine," she replied. She missed Levi something terrible, so she knew somewhat what Safira was feeling. Of course, their relationship wasn't forbidden, and she wasn't carrying his unborn child. Raychel absently patted her stomach. It was true, she could still carry children, she had found, but it was risky. The only baby she wanted was Levi's, and even then she wouldn't dream of it until marriage, and she wasn't going to let a vampire impregnate her to stay away from a high infant mortality rate. Still, being with Safira was a constant reminder that she wished for a child...

Safira's hands found a resting place on her belly, although not the most convenient thing at the moment, pregnancy was thrilling. She couldn't wait until Aurora was big enough to feel her kicking. As of now, Safira sometimes felt a little bit of fluttering as the baby moved around, but nothing more than that. She sighed lightly, feeling the conversation begin to slip away, but didn't have anything to contribute to keep it going strong.
