Bellatrix held onto the muggle train ticket, waiting quite impatiently for someone who had been going nowhere all day long. Bella didn't exactly know why, but for some reason, riding around on trains made her feel a little bit better, like she had some control over where she was going even if she didn't bother to care where it was. It was nice. It was a change.
This train would take her to Canterbury and from there she would buy a ticket to somewhere else. It hardly mattered where; the Malfoy money seemed endless. Bella knew she could hardly spend all of it in one day, anyway. That would be nearly impossible. She supposed her father would be the only person capable of the feat, though. Draco had a way of throwing away the family fortune.
Bellatrix sighed as the train pulled into the King's Cross station. She boarded the second to last car and took a seat in the last row. The car was empty except for a couple sitting at the front. Bella doubted she would be bothered. Pulling herself into a ball, she faced the window and stared outside, not noticing the other person entering her car.
As the train pulled out of the station, Bella got to thinking again. Her whole life really was out of control. And what was she doing? Riding a freaking train. Bella made a face, her eyes threatening to spill tears. It wasn't even Draco's fault anymore, it seemed. No, this was all her fault. Everything was always her fault. A tear fell.
Bellatrix ignored the steady stream of water rushing down her face, instead leaning against the back of the seat and staring out at the countryside. There was a strange sort of peace in realizing that her life was a wreck. She bit her lip. It wouldn't last long. Footsteps in the car disturbed her peace, but Bella didn't turn until someone tapped her on the shoulder. Wiping her face with the back of her hand, she turned around.

((OOC: I thought these two could be friends, considering their distance from their families and their hatred of the wealth of their parents)) Outfit
Evangeline had absolutely no clue why she was approaching Bellatrix of all people. She had decided to ride around on the trains, something she did often. It was a great way to get away from her deadly father. That man drove her utterly mad frequently. It was an amazement she was still remotely sane. Tucking her hands into the pockets of her shorts, she smiled gently. "You okay? Mind if I sit?" she inquired politely, blowing herself away. Sure, Evangeline wasn't a mean person. Straightforward, but not blunt. But talking to an "arch-rival." That wasn't something she did. Ever. Still, Bella looked sad about something. It was only right.

(OOC: That sounds like a good idea as well. But at first, Bella's not going to trust her too much. Old habits die hard.)) "I'm fine, and yes, have a seat," Bella replied, wondering how on earth she had just allowed Evangeline Potter of all people to sit next to her on a train. The girl drove her crazy; typical Gryffindor boldness matched with an air of confidence and rebellion that annoyed Bellatrix to no end. But today Evangeline seemed different. Less cocky and more friendly. Perhaps Bella had misjudged her after all. "Headed for Canterbury?" she asked, not sure of what else to say.

Evangeline shook her head. "Just riding the trains." she replied vaguely. She stared out the window at the rolling countryside, her hand moving to tug at her long blond tresses. Her mind was reeling. Why in the hell was she bothering to even talk to Bellatrix? They were bitter rivals... No, their families were. She never really understood the feud, but never questioned it either. It was probably stupid. Most everything involving her father was.

Bellatrix nodded, understanding the need to ride trains. She did it constantly as well these days. Perhaps she would actually explore Canterbury a bit thought, she rarely went anywhere other than London. "Me too," Bella replied with a slight sigh. She turned away from Evangeline, still wondering why the girl was talking to her, and stared out the window once more. There was something beautifully mind-numbing about watching the hills roll by.

Evangeline nodded. So far the two had more in common than met the eye. She took the sunglasses perched atop her head and began to pull them over her eyes. The sun from the window was beginning to blind her. Of course, being blind would have its advantages. Then again, the cons outweighed the pros, as did lots of things in life. Damn. And I was almost ready never to look at my father again. she thought bitterly. The thought was almost tempting. She turned back towards Bella, at a rare loss for words

Bella turned back to Evangeline. "You know, there's a lot more Hogwarts students riding around on trains these days then there used to be," Bellatrix commented. "I think we're all trying to forget, just for a little while. While we can." Bella sighed slightly. They were all so damn broken inside.

Evangeline, although already aware of this, was surprised at Bella's answer. She smiled and nodded nonetheless. It was apparent her and Bella would get along just fine. However, she was hesitant. Her father would murder her... What am I saying? That's what I want! she thought. Inside, her smile turned devious. Perfect.

Bella fell silent once more, not sure what to say at all and wondering why she had decided to mention that to Evangeline. She doubted the other girl even cared. She was probably a stupid, proud Potter after all. But then again, there was something different about her. Something Bella couldn't quite place. Maybe she was different. It was impossible to tell.

Evangeline was silent. "Were you close to your father?" she asked, then immediately regretted the question. "Oh gosh, I'm sorry. That was rude." she replied, her voice dropping an octave lower. She stared out the window and fidgeted a bit. Why did I say that?! she asked herself, tapping her foot impatiently and angrily. The stupid question, although something Evangeline wanted to know, was probably one of the rudest things she could have possibly asked. She felt moronic beyond words.

Bella raised her eyebrows at Evangeline's question an immediate apology. Bellatrix decided to ignore the second part. She didn't find any huge problem with the question; it was innocent enough. But the answers weren't quite so pretty. "Not particularly; no," Bella replied. "Are you close to yours?" Bella had a feeling about the answer before Evangeline opened her mouth to speak.
