Levi welcomed Raychel's lips upon his own. He liked what they had, he felt no need for them to be wild and act like animals in their love for one another. Their love was deep, mature, and gentle. Levi was content with it, and he hoped that Raychel was too, as he honestly didn't know how to get into the steamy stuff, nor did he really want to.

Raychel broke the kiss slowly, smiling. "I missed that." she added with a laugh. It was true, she had missed every element of their relationship while he was in the hospital. Sure, Professor Oriole had allowed her to come in every day during visiting hours, but it wasn't the same sitting in a seat beside the chair hoping Levi would wake up long enough to speak. He had either been eating, or sleeping. After he woke up they fed him, and after he ate they sent him back to bed. It was agonizingly painful to watch Levi being treated like a dog, but she did not blame Professor Oriole for that. It had to be done for Levi to be in the condition that he was at the moment.

"I missed that too," said Levi. In his recovery phase, it was difficult to not be able to speak much, but being forced to sleep as much as he did was most likely what made the process so swift. The body healed itself much more quickly during slumber. But it was good to be in the realm of the living once more. To be with Raychel and realize it, and be able to speak with her, kiss her, hold her in his arms.

Raychel smiled and pecked him on the cheek once more before cuddling down into his arms. A blanket appeared in midair above them and floated its way perfectly upon them. Raychel sighed contently and stared peacefully into the crackling fire. If she didn't have the energy she had running through her veins now, she would have fallen asleep. But not seeing Levi awake in days, not being able to be near him, had drove her crazy. Now that things were gliding back into the norm, adrenaline was pumping through her body. It felt nice not to be grouchy and groggy.

Levi used the back of his hand to softly stroke Raychel's hair, the texture of her curls soothing against his skin. He closed his eyes lightly, not in sleep, but in relaxation. Levi breathed deeply, smelling the light scent of burning wood from the fireplace. A gentle rain pattered against the windows on the side of the room, Levi sighed contentedly.

Raychel smiled peacefully. The fire was starting to die, and she lazily tossed a ball of radiant fire into it. She placed her head once more on Levi's shoulder. Rain was beginning to patter up against the windowpane, and the day they met came into her mind. The mud fight, the race in the rain. It was all so fun, back then. Less terrifying. She wasn't having nightmares, not constantly worrying for her sanity. Most of all, she hadn't really been worrying about anyone's lives. Now that she was with Levi, she knew that his life meant the world to her, and she would do anything to protect it.

Levi's hand that had been stroking Raychel's hair found its way to her hand. He absently laced her fingers with his own, still not opening his eyes. It was nice to know that he would be able to evade prying eyes for a few hours after being released, they could be disappointed later. As if on cue, he had gotten a letter from Cici earlier that morning telling him not to share the events that had gone on in the hospital wing, no matter how hard anyone pried. Levi thought this to be weird instruction, but nevertheless, he would obey.

Raychel's mind probed around in Levi's for a split second and she saw the letter in his mind. She quickly pulled away, embarrassed that she had lost control, even momentarily. She too, had gotten a letter from Cici. She didn't mention it, and it did not show even momentarily on her face. She squeezed Levi's hand with her own gently, smiling softly.

Levi too smiled, he began to stroke the back of Raychel's hand with his thumb. He had never felt that there had been someone who cared so much about him, apart from his girlfriend, Levi normally didn't talk to anyone. He was a hard shell to crack, or so he had been told numerous times, mainly by his mother who wanted him to be a bit more extroverted. But Levi had remained stubborn, caring more about schoolwork than having a social life. He supposed his mother would be ecstatic to find out he had a girlfriend, some normality in her abnormal son.

Raychel had begun to think about her parent's, the few people that touched her lives everyday. They would have loved Levi. Raychel realized that they never had gotten the chance to meet him. That thought was depressing in itself. She frowned, her gaze still directed towards the fire. She quickly reformed that into a soft, loving smile as she took the hand already holding her own and grasped it with her boths one. She brought his hand to her lips and kiss the back of it softly.

Levi lightly closed his eyes in relaxation rather than sleep, tilting his neck slightly so he gently rested his head atop Raychel's. Peace and quiet, something that surprisingly was not frequent in the infirmary. People complaining of feeling ill, griping about injuries, the clinking of potions bottles, the almost incessant scratching of quills to fill in important documents. This was just quiet, the only noise being the fire crackling in the grate, bathing the room in a warm glow.

Raychel grasped his other hand and held both in hers. She smiled peacefully, her eyelids getting droopy. Raychel knew that if she fell asleep, the nightmares would start again. She fought long and hard, but eventually slumber won. Raychel was helplessly pulled into a terrifying, all-to-real dream. And it was terrifying. The dream ended how it usually did, with Isabelle vanishing with her final threat lingering in the air. Raychel awoke suddenly, tears staining her cheeks. The sweat that normally was accompanied with the dreams was not present, and she was grateful for it.

Levi attempted to gently shake Raychel after she had been asleep a while. She was having a nightmare, he could see it in her face, feel it in the sudden tenseness of her body. But she had woke herself, and was crying. Nothing irritated him more, as he knew there was relatively little he could do about it. Levi hated seeing Raychel in pain, it made him want to punch something. Levi held Raychel close to him, not releasing her hand from his own.

Raychel wiped the tears from her eyes, embarassed. She didn't wish for Levi to see her like this, ever. Saying sorry wouldn't do anything. Raychel was hopelessly lost in her mind. "I didn't want you to see me like this. I don't want to worry you." she muttered, rubbing her puffy eyes. "It isn't fair to you." she explained simply. The last thing Levi needed was to worry about her.

Levi lightly placed his finger to Raychel's lips. "In spite of what you may think, the only way for me to help you is to be here when you wake, to hold you when you cry." Levi whispered. He rubbed his hand slowly up and down Raychel's back, in attempts to soothe her. No doubt she needed help with this, it seemed deeper than mere nightmares.
