Raychel nodded and buried her face in Levi's chest. She allowed the tears to come. He seemed to be the only person (save for Gabby or Angel) who truly was there for her. In truth, Raychel was terrified for her own being. Her thoughts had been becoming darker and darker, her mind becoming twisted and contorted. She was scared that she was turning into the very person she feared most. Isabelle. That named ringed loudly in her ears. The vampire had done so much more than she could possibly ever know. Raychel still wondered if it hadn't been the villain who murdered who parents and caused her to spiral into tumult.

Levi allowed Raychel to cry on his chest, although was frustrated with the situation. He knew that there wasn't really anything he could do to fix it, that every last aspect of his girlfriend's situation was beyond his control, he couldn't make it better. Levi figured that all he could do was to be there for Raychel when she needed to cry. But in a way, he still admired her, she was incredibly strong, Levi was certain that if in her shoes he wouldn't do half as well as she.

Raychel finally sat up, wiping the tears from her eyes. She hugged Levi gently. "Thank you." She whispered tearfully. She released him and let out a mournful sigh. "I know you feel helpless. Please, for your own health, don't." She muttered stagnantly. It would pain her beyond words if Levi were to decline his own needs for her. She would be flattered, but she couldn't allow him to do such a modest thing.

"But it's as if there isn't a thing I can do," said Levi. "I mean, I could make you a sleeping potion, but really it's like putting a band-aid on someone that got a limb lobbed off." He felt that he needed to convey his frustrations, he didn't know why, as he had been perfectly content with hiding his emotions before. Just not now. It sort of freaked him out, Levi had never even begun to expect something like that from himself.

Raychel laid a hand on Levi's cheek. She smiled softly, but weakly, at him. "Just be here. That's all I need." She replied. Truth be told, the sleeping potion wouldn't have worked, for she had already tried it. It was if she hadn't taken one at all. There was always the chance a stronger potion would work, but anything stronger than what she had used would probably knock her out for days. That was the last thing she wanted. An endless nightmare, and being unable to wake up. The thought was terrifying.

Levi sighed quietly, and then placed a gentle kiss atop Raychel's head. "If you're certain," said he. His eyes traveled to the fire, it crackled happily, consuming the wood. It had the familiar scent of pine to it, and Levi mentally concluded that was the kind of wood being slowly burned up. Soft music began to play from nowhere, it was Beethoven.

Raychel smiled as the music began to play. It was hard to be upset when something so sweet and pure was filling your ears. She buried herself next to Levi, only her head visible above the blanket. The fire crackled and she smiled softly. This moment was perfect. She found her eyelids growing heavy, and she quickly pinched her arm to wake herself up. She perked up, finding the slight pain welcoming. She quickly leaned against Levi, hiding the pleasure. The last thing Levi needed to worry about was her hurting herself, even if it wasn't extreme.

"Trying not to fall asleep?" Levi asked, after noticing Raychel pinching her own arm, in a manner that suggested that she wanted to stay awake. He too was fighting tiredness, but for an entirely different reason from his girlfriend. A book materialized on the side table and Levi picked it up, it was written entirely in runes. He smiled a bit, the room knew him well.

Raychel nodded, emitting a heavy sigh. "Yes." she replied softly. She watched Levi open the book and begin reading. The smile playing on his lips was irresistable. She followed along in the runes half-heartedly. She was comfortable, that much was true. However, sleep was beginning to take over her system, and that was the last thing she wanted.

Levi looked at the runes, right away he could tell they translated into elven. He began to read aloud quietly in the ancient language, every syllable flowing flawlessly from his tongue. Levi knew that Raychel probably wasn't fluent like he was, but reading it aloud in English seemed almost impossible. Once you knew elven, there was no need to translate it to English in your mind, as it was a language of magic, you understood it as perfectly as your first language.

Raychel perked up a bit as she listened to the flawless elven. She was already pulled into a trance with Levi's english, and the elven was all that much more entrancing. She smiled, her eyes closing in peace. She didn't sleep, just relax. It was very soothing, to know Levi was next to her. She listened to the translations, at peace. It wasn't normally hard to stay awake when Levi was speaking, but sleep was pulling at her once more.

The book told of a war that took place in the United Kingdom long before it was called that, ages before the founders of Hogwarts were born. Levi had heard the tale before, but the runes were more interesting than a unit in history of magic. He didn't pause, just continued to read aloud in his favourite language. The only person that Levi could actually talk to in elven was his cousin Angel, as they had worked together to learn it fluently. Perhaps he would ask Raychel if she wanted to learn. Not now, but at a later date.

Raychel allowed herself into the lull of the words. She smiled faintly, her eyelids growing heavy. Sleep was unavoidable, but at this point she didn't care. She curled up next to Levi, her head jesting on his chest. Sleep eventually came, and it was actually pleasant. No nightmares, just the soothing, beautiful elven language spinning around in her head.

Levi wasn't sure how long he had read, as he had not wanted to room to have a clock, so no timepiece was anywhere in sight. His only measure of passing time was the stack of read pages slowly growing thicker and thicker as he continued to read. Levi was aware that Raychel had fallen asleep, but still didn't stop.

Raychel awoke to the sound of Levi, still reading perfect elven. She smiled sleepily. "No nightmares." She muttered dorwsily to herself. "Maybe you ought to read to me before I sleep." She replied, a bit louder, laughing a bit to herself. She wrapped her arms around Levi, laying her head on his shoulder. Raychel knew a little bit of elven, but she was by no means as fluent as Levi. She could make out enough as she followed along in his words to realize the great story. Other than that, she was just at peace to be here.
