Levi stopped the second Raychel fell, and almost thought that she had hurt herself until he noticed her laughing. He gave a small chuckle to himself, she was a real mess on the ground in that puddle of watery mud. Levi offered his hand to help her up, grinning, but no laughter fell from his lips, although he did consider Raychel to be quite the comical sight just then.

Raychel took the hand, still laughing her hardest. Once she was up and began hysterically laughing some more. "Go on, feel free to laugh." she replied with a grin. Levi's lack of laughter was sweet and caring. She felt her hair and face, feeling all the mud within each pore of her body. She finally stopped laughing, the hysteria dying down into a simple giggling. Although she was filthy, Raychel didn't worry. The rain would no doubt wash her clean soon.

Levi laughed a bit, but the happy noise died away rather quickly, the sounds of his own laughter were alien to his ears, as it was a reflex he seldom used. It seemed so strange to Levi, as if there were something else inside of him creating that raucous. "I don't think I've ever met a person like you before," Levi admitted, allowing himself to smile.

Raychel looked up and smiled. "Was that a compliment, or insult?" she asked mockingly, grinning slyly. She brushed the mud from her face, revealing her features once more. The rain would take care of the rest. She laughed a bit more, seeing Levi's features. He was completely drenched, but in a way that made him more... appealing. She looked down at her feet bashfully as she waited for his reply.

"I mean that in only the most affectionate of terms," Levi said with a small grin. The storm was only getting worse as time inched by, the rain getting harder, feeling almost like marbles pelting against his skin. To Levi, this only increased the want to stay out in the storm, it was a sensory thing for him, the harder the rain got, the better.

Raychel looked up and grinned back. She coyly reached and ran a closed fist through her hair, squeezing some mud out. "Well then, how about you join me in the mud?" she asked. Before she could provide an explanation, she pushed the mud ball into Levi's face gently. Laughing, she jumped back before he could have any sortof reaction.

Levi had certainly not been expecting that, it reminded him of the muggle show that they had watched in Muggle Studies, the picture was in black and white and it had been a bunch of men running around throwing pies in one another's faces. Levi used his hands to wipe the muck away from his eyes. Well, she had started it... He leaned over and scooped up a handful of mud, and then threw it, not forcefully, in Raychel's direction.

The mud pie flew through the air and landed on the back of her head. The force was not great enough to move her, but it did splatter. Raychel laughed, scooping a ball of mud into her hands.

Levi had never had a moment of such childish pleasure before. Even in his youth he had not been one to play and get dirty. He would stay indoors and look at picture books, and when he learned to read, had his nose incessantly in a book. In spite of his short time in muggle school before Hogwarts, he had made it to the seventh grade. Levi was certainly happy he no longer had to do that stuff. He scooped up another glob of mud.

Raychel finally scooped up the ball and chucked it at Levi. It arched across the gray sky. Raychel watched it in awe. She roswe her face to the rain and let out a chorus of laughter. It rang out only a few feet, but to her it sounded infinite. She had never before felt so free in her life. Raychel stooped over and began gathering up more balls into her hands.

Levi allowed it to hit him, although he could have easily dodged. The mud splattered across his chest, rapidly staining his pale blue t-shirt. He didn't mind, it was nothing a quick spell would not fix. He threw his ammo at Raychel, and then scooped up some more. Levi was enjoying this moment of absolute immaturity, it was strange to him, but extraordinarily thrilling.

Raychel scurried to dodged the incoming mud, to no avail. It hit it's mark, splattering across her sweatpants, turning them a dark shade of brown. Raychel laughed with glee. "Nice." She called to Levi, placing her muddy hands on her hips.

[bockquote] Levi chuckled quietly, and then used the back of his wrists to wipe some of the mud away from his face. They would have to clean up before heading indoors, the care taker might skin them alive for tracking in so much filth. But with the distance between the castle and here, the rain would wash it off before they got there. [/blockquote]

Raychel smiled brightly. She had never had so much fun with someone in her life. In a way, this was a sense of freedom never given to her. All her life, she had been given opportunities beyond her wildest dreams, because of her parents. She had never stayed in one place long enough to enjoy something. After becoming a Hogwarts student, she had received this opportunity, and she adored what came with it. She scooped up another ball of mud and aimed to throw at Levi.

This time, Levi ducked, but he had not timed it well, so instead of getting his chest it collided with his face. He blinked the mud from his eyes. Raychel was going to pay for that move, even if it getting his face was mostly his own fault. He grabbed two handfuls of muck and threw them both at the same time, grinning widely, the taste of dirt lingering in his mouth...
