That Sunday, Angel had written to Gabriella and asked her to bring Isaac along on their weekly visit. She did not say why in the letter, but she had early presents to give them for their wedding. True, it was late May, but she felt that the sooner she gave them their presents the better. They would be of use, especially if they had outdoor classes still. Angel had been busy forging them rings that would protect them from sunlight, and they were finally ready.
Angel propped her feet up on the coffee table with a small sigh, and then took a long drink of grape Kool-Aid. For the moment, life was great, and she was eagerly awaiting the surprise of her friends as they saw what she had made for them. Yes, they had cost a ton of money, but it would be well worth the expense

After Apparating into nearby woods, Gabriella and Isaac had hiked over to Angel's house. Gabriella did this every Sunday, but this week Angel had asked her to bring Isaac along as well. It didn't seem like too weird of a request, since Isaac and Angel were close friends, yet Angel hadn't given any sort of explanation. Gabriella knocked on her door and squeezed her fiancé's hand.

Isaac smiled and squeezed Gabriella's hand back. He had wondered why Angel had wanted him to come, sure they were friends and he enjoyed spending time with her, but he thought of Sundays being the sort of special bonding time they got since they seldom saw each other anymore. Isaac actually did not mind coming, as the school year was drawing to ac lose and the staff was being generous and not assigning much homework.

Angel flicked her wand at the door, since getting off of the couch would have taken her ages. "Good morning! Come on in," she said, hand covering the small boxes that held Isaac and Gabriella's rings that would protect them from the sunlight. She had also enclosed instructions for how to renew the magic during the next complete solar eclipse.

Gabriella smiled as she came into Angel's flat. She gave her cousin a hug and then took a seat in the chair opposite the couch that Angel was currently lounging on. "Hey Angie, how are you?" Gabriella asked once she was seated. She noted that Angel's hand was covering something, but for now said nothing, as she figured Angel would let them know if it was anything too important.

"I'm fine, taking a daily beating from Isaiah and Morgayne, though." Angel replied with a smile. "I've got early presents for you guys!" She was excited about them. She handed the appropriate boxes to Isaac and Gabriella, figuring that she would explain after they opened them. She was not able to wait until August to give them to her friends, they deserved things like these.

Gabriella was a bit surprised by the presents, and allowed it to show on her face. "Aw, thanks Angie," she said, then opened the little package and was surprised to find a ring inside of it. Angel usually didn't give her jewelry. Then Gabriella saw the little note inside them. She opened it up and read through a list of instructions on how to renew the magic during a solar eclipse. "They protect us from the sun," she breathed, turning back to Angel. She gave her cousin a hug.

Isaac looked at the ring in the box against the white satin, the midnight blue velvet on the outside soft to the touch of his fingers. He took a quick moment to read the instruction, and then slipped the ring onto his right index finger. At first, it was too big, but it instantly adjusted itself to fit his finger perfectly. "Thanks, Angie!" Isaac said enthusiastically, but felt his heart sank. The rings must have cost her a fortune, and seeing as she was already struggling...

Angel returned Gabriella's hug. "I figured that they would be of more use to the both of you now versus later," she explained, allowing herself a small smile. "I wanted to get the both of you something more unique, since I don't think either of you will actually use a toaster." On the topic of toasters, Angel had yet to get one, so she toasted her bread in a frying pan, she had been scoping the thrift stores for a toaster, but none of them looked as if they would be functional.

Gabriella chuckled at the comment about the toaster. This was true, Gabriella and Isaac were very unlikely to use a toaster. Plus, Isaac's fortune could buy them one if they needed it for something. "Well thanks Angie," she replied with a smile. Gabriella slipped on the ring as well, and it shrunk to the size of her small finger. She smiled.

"I hope you didn't go through too much trouble for them," said Isaac with a frown, not that he was ungrateful, but Angel should be taking care of herself before she thought of them. Isaac absently slid his thumb up and down the side of the ring, it felt strange, as he had never been one for jewelry. He supposed that he would get used to it in time, especially if it would protect him from dying in the sun.
