Jenna bowed to the hippogriff, suddenly feeling extremely small. This was one of the classes she was the least comfortable with, mostly because it required standing to do a lot of the work. The NEWT practical was no different. Keeping her head low, Jenna watched the hippogriff, whose name she had already forgotten, which wasn't like her at all. Slowly, the hippogriff bowed back. Jenna sighed in relief and came slowly forward to pet it for the examiner.

Alec was sort of freaking out, though it didn't look like it from the outside. He had never really paid much attention in Care of Magical Creatures, so he hadn't quite been prepared for a hippogriff encounter. And the stupid creature wouldn't bow back to him. Alec bowed again, though he kept his head up a bit just in case.
