For once, Emily felt like one of the more intelligent ones in the group. She jut couldn't stop writing. She loved Defense Against the Dark Arts, it was where you learned all the interesting spells and hexes. That was, if you had a good teacher. She was currently in the middle of a paragraph for question thirty-seven. Explain why nonverbal spells give the attacker a slight advantage. This was easy.

Deflect the spells that the examiner threw at him. It shouldn't be too hard. Nobody had told him the instructors would be using nonverbal spells. He had done pretty decently until the last one, it was just a harmless Flipendo. It knocked him flat on his block, but he got up, ready for the next one. "That's all," said the examiner, then sent him on his way again.

Blaize bounced his leg up and down beneath the desk as he wrote. He was restless, the fifth years had been doing exams all day and he was sick of sitting in one place for so long. But for once, Blaize wasn't having difficulty with the exam. Defense Against the Dark Arts was his best subject. Next to Charms, that was.

Jane wasn't doing her exam. What was the point in learning how to defend yourself. You won't be able to anyway. It annoyed her that everyone one els was bothering to try. She shouldn't let them. She began tapping her foot on the table lag. She hoped that this would distracted some people.
