The portrait with the pear slid out of the way and Gabriella allowed Angel to step into the kitchens first, following closely behind, but remaining silent. A small house elf hurried over to the pair. "Anything I can help you with Miss?" the house elf asked, directed at Angel. They had a weird knack of knowing that Gabriella wouldn't eat anything.

"Could I have a plate of whatever you served for dinner this evening please?" asked Angel. The house elf nodded and bowed, then scurried off. He was back in less than two minutes with a plate of ravioli and three slices of garlic toast. "Anything else?" he asked. "No, thanks," said Angel. The house elf scurried off again. Angel began to eat as if she had been starving. This was really good...

Gabriella sat down at a stool that one of the house elves had silently provided. She watched Angel eat for a moment and then spoke. "Did they not feed you on the way back or something?" Gabriella teased lightly. Angel was acting more odd by the minute.

Angel didn't respond at first, she was too busy shoveling down the ravioli. She swallowed. "No, I was the only person on the train, so they didn't bother." said Angel. It was annoying having to take the train back, she had tried to convince her mother or her father to apparate with her to Hogsmeade and then she would be able to walk to the castle, but the had both rejected the idea.

Well this made slightly more sense now, at least Angel had reason to be hungry. Still, Gabriella couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong with her cousin. "That's unfortunate," she replied. "Well at least you've got Hogwarts ravioli."

Angel nodded, she had completely demolished the entire plate of ravioli. She then began to attack her garlic toast with the same ferocity she had the pasta. The sick feeling in her stomach had gone away, perhaps it was only there since she was hungry. "I missed the Hogwarts cooking," said Angel, then took another bite of garlic toast, chewed, and swallowed. "Not that the food was bad at Beauxbatons, it just wasn't the same."

Gabriella nodded understandingly. "Yeah, sometimes its better to have what your used to than something new," she agreed, thinking back to when she was still a human. It felt like forever ago and it still hadn't been a year. How strange.

Angel swallowed the last piece of garlic toast, feeling a lot better now. She mentally concluded that the only reason she felt ill was because she was hungry. She grinned. "I must have missed a lot," said Angel, leaning against a counter. "What went on while I was gone?"

Gabriella gulped slightly, preparing to tell Angel about the ring on her finger that Isaac had given her during the Christmas ball. "Well, everything was normal until the Christmas Ball," she began. "And then Isaac gave me this..." Gabriella held out her left hand for Angel to see.

Angel gasped when she saw it, eyes wide. She then grinned widely. "Oh, Gabriella!" Angel proclaimed, then threw her arms around her cousin, almost close to tears for no apparent reason. "I had a feeling you two were going to be together for a long time!" said Angel, releasing her cousin. "Gabby, it's so beautiful."

Gabriella grinned widely, glad that Angel had instantly fallen in love with the idea of her getting married. It was still well past Gabriella's head that she was going to be Isaac's wife, and with him for a really long time, but she knew she was ready for this. "Yes, I had no trouble saying yes," Gabriella said with a slight laugh at Angel's enthusiasm.

"We'll be an even larger family!" Angel said, thinking about it. When Isaac and Gabriella got married, that would make him some sort of a "cousin-in-law," and oh! Draco Malfoy would be distantly related to her father! How about that, the two worst enemies anyone could think of would be in-laws... Angel felt sick again.

Gabriella laughed and placed her hand back onto her lap, her eyes looking at the ring again. How Isaac had managed to find something so perfect, she couldn't really know. "Yeah, it'll give the whole Weasley clan quite a fright," Gabriella replied.

Angel's eyes were suddenly very round, in the emotion of the morning, she hadn't thought of that. "Gabriella," Angel said after a moment. "What do you think your parents will say? You're of age and everything. But, wow..." Her Uncle Ron would probably explode. Angel would defend the relationship in an instant, Isaac was a nice guy, and the perfect math for Gabriella.

Gabriella nodded solemnly, wondering why Angel hadn't thought of this sooner. Of course Gabriella thought about it enough for the both of them. "It'll be alright, whatever they think," Gabriella replied, staying strong. Sure it would be nice to have their support, but if she didn't, it would be alright.
