Too Far (Anyone)

Isaac wandered through the forest, grumbling under his breath. He was still completely infuriated with what Alec had done to Gabby. A long walk would help all that, he figured. He had lost track of where he was going, but Isaac knew if he kept walking that he would eventually make his way out. That was the plan. Isaac stopped to kick at a dying tree. Some bark chipped off. He grumbled, then walked on. He thought he heard a twig snap, and he looked around, but saw nothing. He mentally shook himself, he was being stupid. Before he could take another step, something with piercing fangs was upon him, tearing at her jugular vein.

Isaac gasped in pain, he was defenseless, his wand lay useless on his bedside table in the Slytherin boy's dorm. The thing was drinking his blood, a vampire! Isaac kicked at the figure, only to hear a disgusting crunching noise and feel a jolt of pain shoot through his foot. Well that had been helpful. The vampire dropped him, and he crumpled to the ground, bleeding. Isaac was incapable of moving because of his wound and the fact most of the bones in his foot were probably broken. A searing pain was surging through his entire body, perhaps this was what a "slow and painful death" was. His eyes rolled up into the back of his head, and Isaac knew no more.

*Three days later*

Isaac opened his eyes, everything around him suddenly in clear focus. He heard and saw everything. A bird in a distant tree breathed, the wind sighed through the sparse leaves remaining on the trees. He was laying in a pool of dried blood, his head positively ached. What the hell had happened?

Wolfgang knew he wasn't supposed to be in the forest, but he was there anyways. Besides, it was broad daylight anyways. He suddenly perked up when he saw dried blood spattered everywhere. He followed it and found Isaac, laying in a puddle of dried blood, but looking quite alert. "Isaac, are you alright?" Wolfgang asked cautiously.

Isaac jumped up, noticing the dried blood caked onto his face and clothes. He looked at Wolfgang, nostrils filling with a smell so strong, so appealing... His eyes suddenly flashed a deep burgundy. He sprang and tackled Wolfgang to the ground, opening his jaws, about to rip open his jugular...

Wolfgang heard several crunching noises, feeling pain shoot up his side. Several of his ribs had been broken, he was sure of it. There was so much pain... He whipped out his wand and froze Isaac. He was barely able to squeeze out and stand up, wheezing. The pain was unbearable. Wolfgang ran onto the grounds. He was mad... Wolfgang made it a few feet from the Whomping Willow before he collapsed, breathing heavily feeling the pain surge through his ribs. He was in too much pain to move, even to repair his injuries. Isaac was mad... Positively insane... No wonder he had not shown up for school in three days... He could barely breathe...

Isaac only realized what he had done after he was unfrozen and Wolfgang was out of sight. His eyes lost the glint, his heart sank several notches. He let out a groan of frustration and punched a tree. It cracked and fell to the ground with a rumbling crash. All the nearby birds flew away in fright. Isaac ran in the opposite direction. His surroundings blazed around him. He jumped onto an old wizard and sank his teeth into the flesh of the man's throat. He drank until the man fell limp beneath him. Fresh blood trickled down his front. Isaac looked in horror at the dead body. "What have I done?" Isaac whispered, as he dropped the corpse to the ground in disgust. "I'm a monster." He then ran back into the forest, so far in, daylight could not be seen. Three more trees fell to the ground.

Gabriella ran into the forest. She hadn't seen Isaac in three days. She didn't have a clue where he could be. But she caught the trail instantly and ran after it. Trees were crashing in front of her, Isaac's scent had changed. Gabriella didn't bother to think about why. And then she saw him in front of her. "ISAAC!" she yelled. And then she knew. He was a vampire too. "NOOOOOOOO!" she screamed.

"Gabriella," Isaac said softly, and with one hand, accidentally knocked down another tree. He was a monster. She should go away until he learned to control himself. His head still ached, he still thirsted immensely although he had drained that old wizard completely dry. Isaac couldn't say anything, he didn't know what to do. For the first time in his life, he was scared.

"Isaac," Gabriella said, her voice shaking as she ran up to him and grabbed his hand and squeezed hard. "You can't be one too, it's horrible." Gabriella looked up and saw the thirst in Isaac's eyes. "Blood," she said quietly. "Run with me back to Hogwarts."

He squeezed her hand gently. "No! Wait a moment!" Isaac said, eyes suddenly very round. He remembered what he had done, he felt horrible. "We have to find Wolfgang first. He found me when I first woke up, I tried to attack him, I think he might be injured." Isaac explained, fear showing through his burgundy eyes.

Gabriella's eyes clouded over with sadness. "You can't go near him if he's bleeding," she said. Gabriella thought for a moment. "Stay here and I'll find him and take him to the hospital wing and come back with blood for you."

"Okay." Isaac whispered, just seconds later, Gabriella was gone. A sudden enticing smell met Isaac's nose. Like a snake before its charmer, he followed it, not really controlling what he was doing. He was in a trance, not paying any attention to what he was doing. Isaac jumped onto a lone centaur, sinking his teeth into its neck. It screamed and trashed, but eventually, it gave up. Isaac sucked it dry, still thirsting, he needed more... "Damn." Isaac aloud, then ran back to where Gabriella had left him and sat down, pulling his knees to his chest. He was scared out of his mind, he was a monster...

Jasmine had catiously wandered into the woods. She was frightened by the dry blood, too scared to move. She continued to walk until she saw a shape. Hiding behind a tree, she watched the figure move, so elegantly, so gracefully, it couldn't have been a human. Backing away slowly, her emerald ring glinted in the sunlight. "Shit..." she whispered to herself.

Gabriella caught Wolfgang's trail and headed for him. He was bleeding badly and she pulled out his wand and healed what she could. His eyes flickered open and stared at her. "Wolfgang, if you can hear me, I'm going to pick you up now," she said. Gently she bent down and picked him up. She had already decided that she would run so fast that all of the bumps would be smoothed over. And so, she did, running all the way up to the hospital wing. "Isabelle!" Gabriella hissed, setting Wolfgang on a bed.

Wolfgang heard, but was in too much pain to respond. His side was searing with pain, although Gabriella was gentle, moving in the slightest made him feel like screaming out in pain. It was agonizing. Wolfgang closed his eyes and placed his palm on his forehead, feeling his side ache in protest when he breathed.

Isaac put his head down on his knees, feeling his eyes sting like he were crying, but no tears came. This was all too weird. He couldn't even release tears, he was a monster. He had already killed twice. If anyone could see his burgundy eyes, they were filled with self-hatred and fear. The smell filled his nostrils once again. Isaac fought it, turning toward the tree he had leaned himself against and bit it. It cracked and fell down to the ground with a rumbling crash. Isaac let out a growl of frustration.
