Late Night Out (Jenna)

Luke stood in front of the giant doors, anxiously awaiting Jenna's arrival. From the moment she had spoken in his head, he had known that she was the one for him. Luke checked his watch; it was two minutes to ten. He was uncharacteristically early and Jenna wasn't early, how strange. Footsteps were coming down the stairs and Luke turned to see...

Jenna, wearing a pair of jeans and a t-shirt topped with a white zip-up hoodie. She smiled upon seeing Luke. This would be their first date, but of course she had lost her voice. Hello, she projected to him. As he looked at her quizzically she grinned widely. Lost my voice.

Luke sighed sympathetically. That was never fun. Well at least we're both telepathics, he projected back. This was true, it was a very good thing. Where would you like to go? Luke asked Jenna. He had some ideas, but it was only polite to let her decide first.

Jenna bit her lip, thinking. How about a walk? she suggested, feeling like fresh air would do her good. Plus, it was always quiet outside. And then you can choose something, Jenna added, beginning to push the heavy doors open. It took all of her strength, but the one she was pushing opened slightly.

Luke shrugged as he finished pushing open the door that Jenna had cracked open. Sounds good to me, he projected to her. They both stepped outside and Luke closed the door behind them. Well, where would you like to walk to? he mentally asked.

Jenna bit her lip thinking. Then she had an idea. They would walk down toward the lake and then run back up the hills. Jenna grabbed his hand and pulled him a bit. You'll see! she projected to Luke.

Luke shook his head, laughing as Jenna pulled him along. They were beginning to run, somewhat in the direction of the lake. Jenna's hand was warm in his slightly colder one, and he felt completely at ease as they continued to run toward the lake.

The reached the bottom of the large hills and Jenna stopped running. She looked out on the lake which was as smooth as glass. Beautiful, Jenna projected to Luke, sighing gracefully as she sat down on a nearby rock, staring at the still water.

Luke smiled. Jenna was right, it was completely beautiful, just like her. I agree, he projected as he walked over to the rock. He sat down next to her and bravely took her hand. Luke glanced up at the half-moon. It illuminated the night sky. Look at that, Jen, he said pointing toward it.

Jenna looked up as the thought was projected to her. Luke was right, the moon was truly beautiful that night as well. The view was simply perfect. Wow, was all she found herself capable of projecting back to him.

Luke grinned in response, Jenna's reply was about all that could be said. Yes, wow, he projected back. Luke was perfectly content just sitting there next to her on the rock, holding Jenna's hand. The moment seemed like it would last forever and ever. And in a way, it did.

After forever had ended and now had come around again, Jenna sighed softly. What would you like to do now? she projected curiously, wondering what his response would be. She had no way of reading his mind as they were both prone to blocking their own minds, but they were still projecting thoughts out.

Luke pondered this. There was something he would like to do, but he wasn't sure if he possessed the guts to do so. He decided that he should anyway. This, he projected. Luke leaned over and kissed Jenna gently on the lips.

Jenna hadn't been expecting that one, but nevertheless, she found that she liked Luke's courage. They broke apart after a moment and Jenna smiled. Again? she projected, but Luke had simultaneously projected the same thing to her. With a laugh, Jenna leaned in to kiss him again.
