It wasn't unusual for someone like Blake to be found roaming the corridors with no real purpose. Today had been a particularly tame and boring day for Blake, leaving him no interest to attend Defense Against the Dark Arts and be corrected numerous times on his mistakes. Taking criticism wasn't exactly something Blake took lightly.
The times he had given something to criticize were far and few between, he mused to himself. The long corridors were deserted, as opposed to their usual bright crowds. Blake never really enjoyed being alone, but he would much rather suffer in this way, than suffer in his lessons. Parking himself on a bench, he propped a knee up, pulling an apple he had swiped from the kitchen from his bag.
He bit into the apple, realizing that for the first time since his arrival, he had no plans for the weekend. No pretty little girl to take out, most already swiped or buried in books. His mouth pulled into a small frown as he thought of what could possibly fix this conundrum, or better yet, someone.
Echoing footsteps in the corridor startled Blake, as he glanced up, shocked to find another person daring to step outside of class.

Ariadne had no class that period, and the weather outside was looking rather drab. Clouds had moved in and were about to unleash a spring shower, and Ariadne wasn't about to go onto the grounds with that chance. Her Slytherin robes were hanging open, revealing her deep emerald mini dress that came to a mere five inches above her knee. It had minor sleeves, but it was the swooping neckline that did it. Her legs were bare, and her black heels clicked across the floor as she walked. She had a silver necklace laced around her neck, a simple serpent charm with glittering emerald eyes hanging at her throat. Her earrings and ring matched the necklace and her blonde hair was falling around her shoulders.
Her mind traveled to Stefan, as it often did. Their date was scheduled for the next day, and she was rather nervous. Yes, they were speaking again, and were still friends, but going on a date was rather nerve-racking. It shouldn't have been, but Ariadne loved Stefan with all of her heart. There was still so much he didn't know about her, though, like the fact that she was probably going to be joining the Death Eaters once they graduated. She wondered how he'd take that. Ariadne rounded a corner and came upon a Gryffindor boy, apple in hand. "And what do you think you're doing?" Ariadne asked, her tone icy, the prefect badge gleaming on her chest.

Blake glanced up to see who the clicking heels had belonged to. His gaze wandered up the stunning girl, before landing on the prefect badge on her chest. He bit his apple once more, tossing it in his rucksack before standing. In situations such as these, the Americans had quite a great word to describe their emotions; Crap. He smiled, despite the obvious trouble. It was a wonder he had yet come across this breathtaking woman walking these corridors. Most had had already conquered.
"Eating. And yourself?" His smart-alec reply was casual and conversational, accompanied with one of his signature grins, never failing to disarm a victim. He really would rather suffer some consequence, than sit in class and be made a fool of.

Ariadne rolled her eyes at the boy, who was grinning charmingly at her. She managed a small smirk and she stepped forward. "Oh, nothing really, just talking to a boy who doesn't have a clue as to who he's dealing with," she answered, stepping forward and stealing the bag from around his shoulders. Ariadne reached inside, taking the apple and smiling softly. "I know who you are, though. Blake Walker, Gryffindor pretty boy who attempts to take advantage of every idiotic female with long legs and a decent cup size," she sneered, dropping the apple into the bag and shoving it back towards Blake.
"And I'm familiar with that flirtatious look, love. Hell, I invented it. You're dropping your gaze, puffing out your chest like some ruffled cock. Crow for me, you idiotic birdbrain," Ariadne continued, stepping forward and grabbing the boy by his shirt collar. "You think I'm just going to melt for you. You're wrong. I'm taken, you've come a bit too late," she finished, glaring at the boy. Ariande glared into his eyes coldly for a moment, finally rolling her eyes and releasing him, turning on her heel to depart.
((OOC: Playful, flirting on Blake's part, cruelty on Aruadne's part, what do you think?))

Blake couldn't help but grin as he took his bag, before dropping it on the bench. That was perhaps the most spunk, as the Americans called it, he had seen in a girl in a long time. He watched as she turned away, bowing deeply in an exaggerated manner. "You must be the eldest Malfoy," he said with a wide grin. "I have heard much about you, however, no one has done you justice," he lent on the wall, folding his arms across his chest.
"But I must say, Miss Malfoy," he brought a mock tone of hurt to his voice. "I suppose what you have heard of me has done me no justice, for I do not discriminate. I accept all cup sizes," he knew it was dangerous ground. After, one of the most powerful people walking the corridor had already put him on her bad list, and he was quickly dropping. However, it gave him a feeling that he couldn't describe. Challenges had always given him a sort of rush he didn't always get with the girls who melted on first sight. "Shame that I have been delayed, for I wouldn't have let you go so easily," that line had been new. He mentally reminded himself to add it to his list upon returning to the dorms.
But they always melted eventually. Always.

At his next comment, Ariadne couldn't help but turn on her heel, march the few steps distance, and punch the boy square in the nose. Glaring back, she leaned in close. "You best watch yourself around me," she hissed, venom in her tone. "And you best stay away from these girls. They don't need a scumbag like you." Ariadne's eyes narrowed slightly, and she pondered his last phrase for a moment. It was almost... sweet. "And why's that?" Ariadne asked, tone murderous, just egging him on further.
Ariadne wanted to hear what other cheesy lines Blake was going to try to use to have her swoon. She had dealt with guys like this her whole life, but had never touched one. Any womanizer was on her bad list, especially when they didn't know when to quit. Still, she could understand a small flirt, even a large flirt. But, once he started taunting her, it was the end of the line. Ariadne could only imagine what sort of sick kicks Blake received from deflowering innocent girls. If he ever so much as laid a hand on Izzie, Ariadne would be the last thing he would ever see...

Blake gaped for a moment, swiping experimentally at his nose to feel warm blood trickling down his face. He stared at her, before a real grin broke across his face. Never had a girl had the bravery to do that. For once, he was speechless.
Of course, he knew when to draw the line, and let the target cool off. This was by no means the last time he would see her. He wouldn't allow that. "Someone like you must be fighting off the scumbags such as myself with a stick," he was careful not to earn a second beating to the nose. He knew a few charms would quickly repair it, but he didn't want to risk it. "It's a shame though," he stepped back to pick up his bag.
"Such a pretty face, and such a stony heart. Perhaps one day I can prove to you I am indeed not just another 'scumbag', as you so blatantly put it," he began walking away backward, offering her that wide grin. He wasn't going to risk using the recycled lines on her, by any means. Someone like this deserved something better.
He winked before turning to walk away.

Ariadne turned back around, watching him leave. "I don't need a stick, just a cold hand," she replied, smirking slightly. She wouldn't admit this, but she was rather enjoying the playful banter between the two of them. Granted, some of the comments made her want to break the boy's nose, but some were genuinely... charming. Ariadne had to remind herself that she had Stefan, and no other boy was going to get inside her head and make her want him. That was never going to happen.
Ariadne's eyes narrowed slightly at his final comment. "It'll take a lot to prove that to me," she replied, eyes narrowed. The eldest Malfoy had gotten into some nasty situations with boys before, and they'd been real scumbags. Blake Walker didn't seem to be much different in that regard. Truthfully, Ariadne did see a lot of her former, flirtatious self in the boy, and couldn't really blame his bravery and determination to get what he wanted. He didn't seem to belong in the Gryffindor house, but maybe he was noble... Ariadne, however, doubted it.

Blake smirked as he listened to her final comments, continuing his walk down the corridor. "A worthy prize it would be, to win your favor," he called over his shoulder.
Silently pulling his wand from his belt, he whispered his signature spell. "Orchideous," he murmured, allowing the bright bunch of flowers to land on the corridor floor. He was by no means going to give such an untamed girl a bunch of mundane flowers. He had managed a bunch of bright wild flowers, as he continued walking away. He silently wished he could turn back and see if she accepted the offering, as he wiped at more blood from his nose.
That had been the most fun he had had in a long time, he mused to himself, grin pulling silently at his lips.

Ariadne caught the flowers as they fell to the ground. Truthfully, they were gorgeous. Her face grew red, as she brought the flowers to her nose, inhaling their intoxicating scent. For a moment, she stared after him, slack-jawed, eyes wide. Flowers? That was... sweet. Not many guys had ever given her flowers before, and never had flowers been so incredibly... exotic. Ariadne was thrown back into her senses when Stefan entered her mind. Throwing the flowers to the ground, she retrieved her wand. Pondering jinxing the boy for sport, she turned her attention onto the flowers on the ground.
"Incendio," she said coldly, and a spark shot from the end of her wand, igniting the flowers. It was a controlled flame, and would only burn on the flowers, but hopefully Blake would get the message. She turned on her heel, walking in the opposite direction, the flowers burning in the hallway behind her.

Blake heard the spell, but he smiled anyways. He knew what had happened. He had shocked her. Of course, he was unsure how he felt. He had perhaps shown her a side of himself almost no one has seen, and he was unsure for a moment if it had been the right idea. But she was obviously more special than others he had seen. Of course, he had noticed the hesitation.
That scent would long linger in her mind, as hers would linger in his.
