Abigail sat up on the hospital bed, cradling her head in her arms as they rested on her knees. Closing her eyes she blew out a deep breath, willing the horrible sick feeling in her stomach to go away. The Healer overseeing her pregnancy assured her it was normal in the first trimester to suffer with sickness but she was getting it constantly and now passing out at work he'd finally agreed to take a closer look at her.
Abigail was well aware her body was simply adjusting to the growing change inside her, honestly she wasn't worried, if anything she was more embarresed for fainting in work, it frustrated her enough that she was no longer allowed on missions, but now she doubted she'd be allowed to do sod all.
After arriving at the hospital she had sent a message to Ransom letting him know where she was, but warned him not to worry which she knew was pointless. Lifting her head she threaded her fingers through her hair and blew out another breath before reaching for the water on the table beside the hospital bed. The ward was quiet, empty save for the sleeping wizard behind the curtain at the end of the ward, which was why when she heard the doors open and footsteps echo through the room, she paused in her reaching for the glass of water and turned to see who it was...

Ransom poked his head into the room, when he had gotten Abigail's owl he had come straightaway although she had told him not to worry. He couldn't help but feel the need to be there. The baby was his fault anyway, he needed to be responsible. Not only that, but Abigail was his girlfriend now. Ransom felt the need to take care of her and be with her at these sorts of things. "Hello beautiful," said Ransom, closing the door behind himself with a small smile. In all honesty, however, he was exceptionally nervous. Afraid still that the child might be like him, have to suffer through with lycanthropy.
Ransom kissed her forehead lightly, she didn't look like her usual chipper self. He knew that she was nauseous, and he felt entirely responsible. It was his child that was doing that to her. He had made a note to find a potion for it, Ransom knew his way around a cauldron and had every confidence he could brew something up if he had the recipe for it. "Are you feeling all right?" Ransom asked although he knew that it was a relatively stupid question, but he couldn't help but ask it.
He wished that he could do something to quell his nerves about the whole process, but he supposed that it was only natural. Ransom had never done the whole parenting thing before, and he didn't have much a model to go off of. The closest thing to a father he had ever had was Xander. Ransom just wanted to give the child everything that he had never had when he was young.

Abigail's face immediatley lit up upon seeing Ransom step into the ward, her sickness was instantly forgotten. As he kissed her forehead she leaned into him lightly, closing her eyes as she enjoyed the closeness between them. Lately he seemed slightly worried to get too close to her, well he seemed to worry about her constantly, about the baby inheriting his condition. Abigail herself wasn't worried, it didn't matter to her.
"I'm fine...Healers just getting a potion to help me feel better...it was probably just low sugar he said, that's why I fainted..." she said, her hand reaching out to take his. Threading their fingers together she smiled softly, "You shouldn't have rushed down here though."

Ransom was glad to see that flicker of happiness in Abigail's eyes, it made him feel somewhat more at ease. He stayed close so Abigail could lean on him, his hands absently rubbing her back gently. It felt good to have her lean against him, it calmed him slightly when his nerves seemed to be going at a million miles an hour. He allowed her to take his hand, it felt as if it belonged there. Ransom still could not help but feel concerned however, it couldn't have been good for the baby for Abigail to pass out like that. It had scared him.
Of course, he wasn't going to say that. Ransom squeezed Abigail's hand, backing away a little so he could look her in the eye. "Yes I did," said Ransom, "I needed to see you for myself." And truth be told, it wasn't as if he were doing anything terribly productive. He had started going about teaching himself French, if only to pass the time. It had been a long while since he had been sent on a mission, leaving him with a lot of down time lately.

"Well I'm glad you did, makes me feel better having you here..." Abigail admitted with a small smile as she rubbed her hand absently over her stomach. The bump was barely visible, with her just being over three months old, she could feel it though and it made her smile. Inside her was her baby, hers and Ransoms baby and that made all this sickness worthwhile.
"Hopefully the second trimester will be a little bit better..." she told him, tucking her hair over her shoulder. If the books she'd bought were right then the first trimester was the worst, if she could get through that then hopefully it would be all smooth sailing from now on. Looking up at Ranson she sighed, she knew how much he worried, it didn't take a genious to know he was blaming himself for her condition, surely he realised it had taken two. "Hows the french lessons going Monsieur?" she asked, sticking her tongue out a little as before she laughed lightly. She only knew a bit herself.

"I'm glad it does," said Ransom, it felt good to have Abigail as his girlfriend. He had been putting thought into asking her to marry him, but decided that it probably wasn't the best idea. At least not at this point. One secret he had kept from her was his being a Death Eater, it would be harder to hide with her being his wife. And Abigail didn't seem to be hinting at the idea of marriage, so the longer they could hold it off the better. For him at least. "I hope so too," said Ransom, he would be able to bear it if Abigail was miserable the whole time.
He chuckled a bit when Abigail asked him how his lessons were going, complete with sticking out her tongue at him. "Les leçons vont admirablement, merci," said Ransom, thinking a moment on his French. It didn't come to him naturally, but it felt good to have something to do with his brain now that he wasn't fighting for survival anymore. Ransom needed to be challenged, have something to do or learn. Once he tired of French he would probably move on to conquer the piano in the music room.

Abigail laughed lightly as Ransom spoke in french, before she nodded her head impressively, "Impressive, think I like you just that little bit more now..." she teased, poking his side before chuckling and looking towards the door as the Healer walked back in carrying her file and a potion in his other hand.
"Ah Miss Watson you have a guest I see..." the man said pretending not notice who Ransom was. Abigail didn't reply instead she just smiled slightly, accepting the potion he held out. "Here drink this it will take away the sickness, which should pass within the next couple weeks..."
"Do you know yet why I fainted?" Abigail asked, grimacing as she swallowed the foul smelling potion, but relaxed as it took away her sickness.
"Yes, it's nothing you should panic over...you've developed a mild case of anemia, my guess is it's caused due to the amount of morning sickness you've been suffering with. It's a fairly common problem, nothing you need to worry about really...I'll be giving you a potion with the iron you'll need to take daily, one spoonful a day should be efficient."
Abigail frowned at the Doctor, nodding her head slightly as he excused himself to get the potion, "Well...at least we know now..." she said to Ransom.

Ransom chuckled a bit, glad to see that Abigail hadn't lost her sense of humour. Of course, he had long known French to be one of the most romantic-sounding languages. Though that wasn't the reason he had chosen to study it, but rather for the difficulty and the usefulness. French was spoken in many countries, and the challenge gave his bored brain something to do. Ransom stood to the side a bit when the healer came in, taking Abigail's hand in his when he spoke. He listened carefully as the man in the lime green robes explained about Abigail having a mild case of anemia.
He supposed that would make sense as to why she had fainted, though Ransom didn't like to hear that there was anything out of the ordinary going on with his girlfriend. At least it was easily remedied. Nothing the healer assured him that they needed to worry about. Ransom squeezed her hand after she had said that at least they knew what was happening. "Thankfully it's nothing too serious," said Ransom, he no longer felt the same extent of concern that he had before. Something about the pregnancy always put him on edge, he didn't know what to expect, he had never been a father before.
And it wasn't as if he had had his parents to follow. Even if they hadn't outright rejected him, Ransom had been born late in their lives, and they hadn't had any other children. Ransom lightly stroked the back of Abigail's hand with his thumb, not sure of what he should say.

Abigail was thankful to have Ransom here by her side, holding her hand. At least he wasn't freaking out, she knew how worried he got over the pregnancy, sometimes it bugged her how much he worried, but she understood. Neither one of them had done this before and it was all normal, what they were feeling.
Rubbing a hand over her slightly, barely rounded stomach she smiled softly, "Nothing too serious." she repeated, nodding her head slightly. The potion the healer had given her had already began to work, she no longer felt sick, in fact she felt more like herself than she had since she found out she was expecting a child.
Shuffling to the edge of the bed, she plucked up her shoes which had sat next to her on the mattress and slid them onto her feet. "Well the sooner he gets back with that potion, the sooner we can leave..." she said, wanting to get home. There was still stuff she needed to sort out, neither her or Ransom had spoken about living arrangements. Up to now she was still preparing to convert her guest room into the nursery, but she didn't mind. Ransom had chosen to stick by her and the baby, and that was enough for her, at least for now, anything else though would obviously be an added bonus.

Ransom was surprised at himself for being able to remain so calm, though at the moment he hardly felt anxious at all. Perhaps it was because the most pressing issue had been dealt with. Right now the only worry that he had about the baby couldn't be told until he or she was born. As far as Ransom knew there wasn't a test invented yet to scan for lycanthropy in unborn babies. Of course, the condition of inherited lycanthropy was very rare, likely not high on the list of priorities for the healer community to figure out. Perhaps that was what he would do when he tired of French instead of piano.
For having thirty-five years f experience as a werewolf, Ransom had little knowledge of his condition. In fact, nobody had much information on where it came from when it was inherited rather than passed through a bite. Perhaps it was meant to be him to figure that out. Though at the moment, Ransom wasn't completely concerned with researching the particular genes that caused inherited lycanthropy, but rather the present with his girlfriend and their unborn child that may or may not be a werewolf like him.
"Right," said Ransom, he had never been a fan of spending time in hospitals, even magical ones. They were busy, brightly lit, and perhaps some of the germiest places he could ever think of. Ransom assumed they would be going back to Abigail's place afterwards, as they definitely had a thing or two to discuss.

Abigail smiled up at Ransom, tucking her hair behind her ear. Before she could talk though the healer walked back into the room, handing her the potion and ordering her to take it once a day, before dismissing her. Abigail watched him go with an amused smile before she turned back to Ransom, tucking the potion in her bag.
"Well we've been given our marching orders." she said with amusement, sliding off the edge of the bed. Brushing down her dress she picked up her bag and looked up at Ransom, "So you ready to go?" she asked softly.

Ransom found himself slightly surprised at the lack of interest the healer seemed to have in his patient beyond it being something he had to do. Not asking if they had any questions or anything, just forcing the potion onto Abigail before turning around and leaving. Granted, it was a demanding profession, though Ransom felt there needed to be some level of communication beyond "you have this, take this and it'll go away." Or perhaps that was his more old-fashioned nature showing through again, whatever the case it made him frown slightly until Abigail spoke again, bringing his attention back onto her.
"Of course," said Ransom, not eager to hang around any longer than what they needed to, "I assume you'd like to go back to your place?" He hadn't really thought about it until then, but it would make more sense for them both to live under the same roof. It would be strange for the child growing up if his or her parents were together, but lived in separate homes. Ransom, though not eager to have to hide any trace of his being a Death Eater in his home, would rather the child grew up at the manor. There was more room than at Abigail's flat, and extensive grounds for the child to be able to play.

"Yes please," she said in response to where she wanted to go. Putting her bag over her shoulder she looked up at Ransom and smiled, slipping her hand into his as they left the hospital room, it felt good to have him with her, she almost felt proud as they walked down the hallway, his prescence made her feel safe.
"I'll have to OWL work, let them know how things went and that I'll be back tomorow." she said, as they stepped out onto the street. The weather was warm, the sun felt good on her skin, making her begin to feel like her normal chipper self.

"Sounds good to me," said Ransom, ready to go somewhere private, though now he didn't care who saw that he and Abigail were together. He didn't care if the tabloids found out anymore, at least it might stop some of the more obsessive witches from practically throwing themselves on him. He squeezed her hand lightly, glad to be leaving the hospital, he didn't like spending time there if he could avoid it. There had been a period of time where Ransom had needed to break in for doses of Wolfsbane potion, so he wouldn't run risk of going on rampage on full moons.
Ransom was just glad that those days had passed now, he could brew the potions himself with ingredients that he was able to pay for. If all went well he would never need to see a healer in his life. "Of course," said Ransom, glad that Abigail wasn't going to be going back into the office that day. Granted, he didn't think that she was going to, but he didn't see that being all that unrealistic considering her profession and the amount of workoholics it seemed to have. People that dedicated their entire lives to catching criminals. People like him.

"You're not that chatty today." Abigail commented as they walked down the street. She was leaning close into Ransom's side, enjoying their closeness. As he squeezed her hand slightly, she smiled softly up at him before turning her focus back onto the butling street around them. People were out everywhere doing what they could to enjoy the weather.
"I hope it's still like this by the weekend," she said, usually by time she got her day off the weather did a turn and she'd usually be stuck indoors once more. They walked in silence for a little bit more, before they finally began reaching her apartment building, "Home sweet home." she mumbled.
