Seth was practically skipping down the hall after leaving his sisters room. Daniel was truly the cutest baby Seth had ever seen, next to Ruby that was. Wren truly was blessed to have such fantastic children. Seth would enjoy watching those children grow up into adults.
But that wasn't what Seth was focusing on right now. What Seth was truly excited about was going to meet Marcus, though Marcus didn't know it yet. It was Marcus' shift right now and Seth figured he might as well keep the student company. Seth figured tonight would be the night! He'd been secretly crushing on the boy for the past six months and tonight would be the night he finally expressed his feelings. Or at least, that was the tentative plan at the moment...
Seeing the greeting desk, Seth walked behind it and looked around for Marcus. "Marcus?" Seth called out, wondering where the other was.

Marcus was filing through some intake papers trying to arrange everything so that they would all flow neatly through his shift. He was only vaguely aware of his surroundings most of the time when he did this because he knew that no one would show up for another ten-to-fifteen minutes. Suddenly though, Marcus's ears began to heat up and start burning; that only happened when... Marcus suddenly looked up and saw Seth standing there. "Seth!" Marcus said jumping in suprise and scattering papers across his desk. For some reason Marcus always got really nervous and flustered around Seth. Ever since he'd started volunteering here he'd admired the man from afar. Seth did so much work and he did it well. If there were more healers like him then the world would be a healthier place. And becuse he was so awesome Marcus was thoroughly embarassed to have made such a mess in front of him. "Hi Seth..." Marcus said in an attempt to sound casual as he tried to gather the papers, "how are you today?"

Seth chuckled softly as papers flew all over the desk make quit a mess. Walking over, Seth started helping Marcus as best he could. Marcus was rather clumsy it seemed but that was just another one of his many cute qualities that Seth found endearing.
"I'm doing rather fantastic, thank you Marcus. My sister just finished giving birth to her second child. It's a boy named Daniel. He's rather cute, I just came over from seeing him," Seth said happily as he handed a stack of the papers over to Marcus. To bad the other would need to reorganize them again but at least they were all in one place.
"And how about you? How's school going?" Seth asked, mentally reminding himself of Marcus' age. That was what had been restraining Seth for so long, Marcus still being in school. It reminded Seth to much of his younger sisters, Violet, situation. She'd met her husband when she'd still been in school as well. Though Seth wasn't as older then Marcus as Violets husband had been to her. Marcus was only seventeen which meant there was only a five year difference instead of ten. Though five years was still more then Seth would have liked, but people don't choose who they fall in love with obviously.

"Oh, er, congradulations," Marcus said kind of lamely. That was what you said to someone who just became an uncle right? Or was that just to the parents? All this made Marcus's head hurt. As he set the papers onto the desk Marcus remembered that Seth had asked him how he was. "I guess I'm doing pretty well. Nothing as exciting as becoming an uncle but I can't complain." Marcus started trying to reorginize the papers but quickly gave up. It would be a long day... This was emphasised by a wizard who had flowers growing out of him walking through the door. Marcus sighed, "Well here come the masses... Sorry Seth but I need to get to work." Even though he was in awe and terrified of him, he'd much rather spend the day with Seth than have to deal with all these people.

Seth had to say it now or never. Marcus was distracted and soon Seth would lose his chance. Just about to speak though some man came in and Seth couldn't help but groan. Why did it have to be so busy right now? Sure only one guy wasn't bad but it was just one more obstacle between him and Marcus right now.
"Wait," Seth said hurriedly as he grabbed Marcus' arm. "Sir, the blue forum is the one you need to fill out thank you," Seth said to the plant guy who simply raised an eyebrow at this before going off to fill out his paper work. Seth turned all attention back to Marcus. He was having a hard time remembering to breath and felt his heart racing in his chest. Could Marcus hear his heart? If Seth let go of Marcus right now then it could all be forgotten right? Seth would be able to return to his normal life and perhaps find someone else to love. Someone who he was a superior to and someone who was not still in school. Also a girl would probably be a better choice as well. Seth had no doubt that if he confessed everything would change.
"Marcus, will you go on a date with me?" Seth blurted out. Oh my god! That was not what Seth had wanted to say. This whole confession thing was meant to be romantic and calm. Seth was meant to look cool and collected when he explained his feelings to Marcus. Oh this was horrible! "I mean," Seth said uncertainly as he let go of the others arm, not realizing that he had still been holding it. "Um," Seth was drawing a blank. It would be weird if he just confessed his love to the other right? To many people had a hard time hearing the words 'i love you'. But that was what Seth felt.
Seth took a deep breath and closed his eyes. "I love you," Seth said bluntly. There he had said it. Seth wasn't sure how Marcus would respond and looked at the other with held breath. If it went wrong hopefully Marcus wouldn't report him at least.

Marcus turned curiously when Seth spoke his brow furrowed. Then his confusion grew even more when Seth grabbed his arm and his eyes widened in suprise. What was he doing? Marcus's shock deepened when Seth asked him out. His eyes were as wide as saucers and he started to breath rather quickly. What could he possible say to that?! He'd worked with Seth for so long and had grown to admire him but had no clue that Seth had even really noticed he was there. What was he going to do?! Say no and hurt Seth's feelings? Say yes and go on his first date ever with someone he could barely speak to? Then the next three words came out and Marcus nearly fainted. He swayed a little and grabbed his desk for support. "I- uh..." he stuttered face going plale except for two splotchy blush marks on his cheeks. After a few seconds of regaining his balance he was finally able to speak. "Seth... I don't know what to say. This is all so sudden." He spoke to the floor instead of Seth, fearing he actually would faint. "I... Can I think about this?"

Seth knew it was coming but it still hurt. Everyone knew that when someone asked for more time they truly meant no. Still Seth should have expected it. Marcus was still in school and Seth was his superior. It would be wrong for them to be in a relationship. Besides, Marcus had always seemed distant to him anyway. Perhaps that had been the secret hints that Marcus didn't like Seth in any sort of way. "Sorry. Take as long as you need," Seth said as he took a few steps back. He had pushed to hard to fast and now all hope was lost. Seth smiled and waved slightly before turning on his heels and fleeing as quickly as he could without being to obvious. ONE WEEK LATER Seth was finally returning to work after one long week off. It had been a rather long hard week for Seth actually. First his sister had had her child and then he had botched all hope with Marcus and then right after that he had been turned. Just thinking of that night made Seth shiver slightly as he remembered. He still wasn't quit onto terms with being a vampire and had yet to tell anyone. He had simply requested a week off from work due to illness and now was taking the night shift. Seth hoped that doing that and keeping his distance from humans would help keep his secret. Also using a few charms Seth was able to hid his fangs and turn his eyes the same green they had been when he was human. Seth walked down the muggle street and towards the empty shop that was St.Mungo-s secret entrance. If he was lucky Marcus would be the welcoming Wizard tonight. Seth knew he had botched all hope last week with Marcus but still wanted a verbal confirmation from the other. Some small part of Seth still hoped that Marcus would give him a chance. Seth would even be okay if Marcus said no to dating but okay with hanging out and getting to know each other. Seth desperately needed a human friend at this moment if he was going to survive with being a vampire. He needed a human friend who hadn't known him very well as a human so that they wouldn't notice the change. Hopefully Marcus would be the friend. Greeting the voice and giving the correct password, Seth walked through the glass of the muggle store and into the waiting room of St. Mungo's. Looking around, Seth hoped to see Marcus standing behind the welcoming desk...

Marcus was indeed behind the welcome desk and knocked over his water bottle as he stood up quickly because he'd just spotted Seth. One week ago when Seth had asked him out Marcus had been terrified of the thought. That night he'd called up his uncle to ask for advice.
"Uncle... I need some help." "What is it dear boy?" "I got asked out by someone at work..." "Is she cute?" "By a guy at my work..." "Is he cute?" "Uncle!" "What? It's an honest question. I don't see what you need me for." "Well what do I do?!" "Well, do you like him?" "Uh... He's... Hardworking, smart, dedicated, kind, and-" "Well then, go for it!" "But Uncle he's-" "Opportunities for love don't come that often my boy, you should at least find out if this is one of them. Go to diner, see a movie, take a broomstick ride by sunset. Just go have fun!"
"Seth!" Marcus said a little too loudly and immediately blushed. He waited until Seth got closer, took a deep breath, then continued. "Uh hi! Haven't seen you in a while, a week actually well I was thinking about what you said and thought that maybe you would like to have me- I mean have dinner with me or fly on broomsticks, or do you know what a movie is?" Marcus had been trying to get it out before he lost his nerve but now it soulded a bit like word salad rather than a response to Seth's offer.

Seth was rather surprised by the jumble of words that Marcus said. Before Seth could stop himself he was laughing. 'would you like to have me' the other had asked. Of course Seth wanted the other! Unfortunately in more ways then one now. But that wasn't why Seth was laughing. The other had blushed in the cutest of ways and next thing Seth heard was a crazy word salad. Marcus truly was an interesting human. Perhaps that was what had gotten Seth interested in Marcus to begin with.
Taking a deep breath Seth managed to stop his laughter. "Sorry," Seth said as he grinned happily at the other. This was perhaps the best day Seth had had all week. He had been dreading this moment all week, fearing the other would tell him to bugger off and then report him. This was definitely not what he had expected when Marcus had asked for more time.
"I'd love to go and see a movie with you," Seth said. It was really the only option Marcus and mentioned that Seth could probably manage now. No more riding during the sunset for Seth. Heck no sun at all for him. "You know of any that are in theaters right now that are any good?"

"Well... What kind of movies do you like?" Marcus asked uncertain of what to do now that he'd run out of steam. Marcus didn't usually go to movies and if he did it was usually a documentary or a scifi show. But he really didn't think that Seth would want to do something so nerdy like that so it was probably best if Seth picked the movie.
Marcus felt so strange. On one end he was terrified out of his wits from talking to Seth, or anyone for that matter, about something like this. On the other hand he felt energized and excited. He'd never done this before and Marcus always loved new experiences. This was something new, that he couldn't just learn out of a book. It required a different sort of smarts. A sort of smarts that Marcus felt he severely lacked in... Could he really pull off going on a...date with Seth?

Seth thought about his answer, looking Marcus up and down to decide what movie would be best. He enjoyed his black-and-white movies dearly but doubted they'd interest Marcus. Marcus seemed like the scifi nerdy type who would enjoy going to watch a rerun of Star Trek more then anything. Seth could enjoy seeing a Star Trek movie if it meant having a happy Marcus coming along with him.
"This is going to be really nerdy but do you like Star Trek? I know a theater that is going to be playing one of those movies next week if you wanna go watch it with me," Seth said.

Marcus just about exploded with excitement. "Yes! I love Star Trek! I didn't know you did too. Where's the theater and when should we meet up?" Marcus didn't expect Seth to like Star Trek! That was quite a surprise... He wondered if Seth was just saying that to make him happy. Well Marcus couldn't really do anything about it if that was true so he might as well run with it. He should try to find out what Seth liked too so that the next movie they saw would be what Seth liked.
Next movie? Marcus just realized that he'd just automatically ran with thoughts of this continuing. What if it did? What if they started hanging out more? What if they started... dating? All of these thoughts swirled around in his head. What if he actually did start dating Seth? How would that be? What would his parents say? It had been enough of a shock when they had found out he was a wizard...

Seth smiled, glad to see that he had made the correct choice. With Marcus this excited Seth felt happy for the first time all week. Even if this did turn out horribly Seth was going to enjoy this experience for as long as Marcus allowed.
"This Saturday at 9pm, that work for you? It's on a weekend so it shouldn't clash with school. If you meet me at the gate to Diagon Alley I'll be able to show you. It's a muggle theater though just as a heads up," Seth said. It was a muggle movie so it being in a muggle theater shouldn't bother Marcus at all but Seth still felt a need to point that detail out.

"Yeah that works fine. Ill be there." Marcus smiled bashfully feeling happy but also suddenly very shy. He was able to apparate since he was 17 so getting to Diagon Ally was no issue. He would just need to make sure he could get off the grounds before sundown. Perhaps he would just stay at the Leaky Cauldron for the night so that he wouldn't have to worry about getting back into the grounds so late at night.
When he heard Seth mention the muggle theater Marcus said quickly, "Oh that's fine! I actually was raised in a muggle family so it doesn't bother me at all." He'd been raised as a muggle with his parents. It wasn't until Marcus suddenly used magic one summer that his uncle found out that his mother's blood had stayed in the line. He and his uncle had always been very close, but that day their bond had grown even stronger.

Seth was slightly surprised to learn that Marcus was muggleborn. He wasn't sure why it was a surprise, perhaps it was because of how comfortable Marcus appeared to be in the wizarding world Seth had just assumed Marcus had been born into it.
"I grow up in the country in a giant wizarding family so I don't know much about muggles honestly. I just know how fantastic the food and movies are," Seth said as a way of keeping conversation going. Seth had been raised in the city only for a short will before the family got to big and they moved out into the country. After that Seth had almost no exposure to muggles and only knew what he did know about them because of a class he had taken during school. That had also been the time he had learned of the wonders of movies. Seth was addicted to muggle movies, especially the classic ones.
