Sterling sat quietly a moment, his intense eyes still locked on Nix, it was as if nothing else in the world existed. She still did not seem entirely well to him, at least not physically, the way she had to keep steadying herself like that. Sterling knew that couldn't be normal, but he wasn't a healer, so he kept quiet until she spoke again. At that moment, he doubted that there wasn't a thing he would not have gave for just an ounce of assertiveness, but the words that he wanted to say vanished the second the hit the tip of his tongue, rendering himself pretty much useless.

Sterling took the hand she offered him in both of his own, to ensure that he had her full attention. He still wasn't entirely sure what he was going to say, but he couldn't give just the usual parting words- that couldn't quite cover what he was feeling. "Anytime," said Sterling seriously, his tone suggesting that he absolutely meant that. He couldn't quite bring himself to insist that she find him whenever she wanted someone to talk to, so he hoped that single word would convey the message adequately.

Nix felt the sides of her mouth tip upwrds at sterlings one small word and then her feelings went in to a very odd spiral, one side of her wanted to grip back on the boys hand and say that she would find him as soon as she felt bad again but another side of her stung. She had alreay had her life runined and she didnt want anyone else to be hurt because of her, she actually cared too much about this boy to have hm hurt by her own issues.

Her mind picked back over her thought form a moment ago and she gave a deep sigh and bit on her tounge, she had always been like this around people she cared about. She would let anyone take a fall beside her, as much as she knew she liked them. She gently slipped her hand out of the boys and shook herself, he didnt need to know, it would only cause more problems

That fraction of a smile made Sterling feel somewhat better, though deep down he had a feeling that Nix was not going to seek him out. He would have to get over his own passiveness to be involved in her life. That much was clear, and it was almost alarming to him, Sterling had never really needed to demonstrate assertiveness before. This was different than exercising his authority as a prefect, that he didn't have a problem with, but this situation was troubling him in a way he hadn't ever experienced. For once in his life, Sterling wasn't completely sure of what to do.

Feeling that their interaction was dead once Nix pulled her hand free from his, he leaned back a bit on his crate a second before standing up to retrieve his guitar case. Maybe he would go outside after all, to a quiet corner of the garden or something. Provided it wasn't raining by the time he got there, the clouds outside certainly threatened it.

Nix watched the ravenclaw move away from and took her moment quickly, she turned away from him and walked over towards the doorway and slipped out it before turning and looking around. She had two choices now, go back to the common room or find somewhere queit. She would have love to go for a walk in the forest but she knew that her freind there wouldnt know her without her tail and she didnt want to risk her child becoming a werewolf just over something as small as a need to be with the forest again.

"stuff it" she said in an oddly strong voice before she started down the steps in her bare feet and she worked out a way she could go in to the forest and stay there overnight like she would have done had she been able to actually change
