Victoire held her son's hand as they walked down the hall to their flat, she had just gotten off work and picked him up from daycare. The boy was currently talking her ear off about his new best friend, another boy named Clifford. An odd name in Victoire's opinion, very old fashioned, though she supposed her own son was named Henry so she couldn't talk. "He sounds like a very nice boy," said Victoire as she released her son's hand to rummage around in her purse for her keys. Henry beamed up at her, making her heart melt for him. Thankfully, he had been just barely two when she and Gavin had divorced, he didn't know the pain that had been their bitter end. Victoire unlocked the door allowing Henry to dart in before her, and then locked everything up by magic.
"What sounds good for dinner, Henry?" asked Victoire as she kicked off her shoes into the corner of their entrance area. Her son paused, suddenly looking very deep in thought before looking up at his mother again. "Can we have bisgetti mummy?" he asked very seriously. Victoire bent her knees so she could be eye-level with her son, she ruffled his hair affectionately. It was bright red like her own. "Of course we can," said Victoire, "why don't you go play and I'll cook some up?" Henry nodded enthusiastically and then dashed back to his room, where he would likely be playing with the figurines she had bought for him, or the blocks.
Victoire threw her coat over the back of the couch on her way into the kitchen, where she began to put dinner together. With magic it would be only a matter of minutes before everything was ready. She looked around as the meal began to put itself together, admiring her flat. It was decorated handsomely, everything cozy, homey, but at the same time organized. She couldn't stand living in clutter. Just as Victoire was setting the table there was a knock at the door. She set down the plates and silver and padded barefoot back to the entrance area. Victoire opened the door just a crack so she could look at...
