Distinguishing Features: Gemma is fairly tall for a woman, coming in at just under six feet, and she does have heterochromia iridum- though it's not too noticeable unless one is looking closely, as her eyes are merely two different shades of blue. Her ears are double-pierced on the lobes and she has a cartilage piercing on the left ear, as well as a small diamond stud on the right side of her nose.
Dressing Style: The words "simple" and "classic" about sum up Gemma's wardrobe, she likes clean lines and flattering designs that never seem to go out of style. She particularly loves the little black dress, and has six or seven ones in varying shapes. She sticks to the feminine side of things, almost always wearing dresses or skirts, though when she opts for jeans it's always with a blouse, never a t-shirt. Gemma likes dainty, understated jewelry, and clean makeup that focuses on only one feature- like winged eyeliner or a red lip, but never both. As for footwear, Gemma almost never wears heels outside work, as she feels she's tall enough already.

History: Gemma was born the day after Christmas, the eldest of what would be four children, to Michelle and Jack Teller. And for a while, things were great. They didn't have much money, and Gemma was never very good at all in school, but they were making it. All through her childhood, she wanted to be a dancer, though her parents were too poor to afford lessons. When she turned six, however, odd things began happening. She found that the most unrealistic of things occurred when she was frightened or angry, lights would flicker, things would break, and one time she even mysteriously found herself on top of a lamppost when she was almost hit by a veering truck.

When Gemma was eleven, a representative from Hogwarts came to their cramped flat, and explained that what she was doing was magic, and that she had been accepted to attend a magic school. Reluctantly, her parents sent her to the school, although it put a financial strain on the family that didn't have much to begin with. Upon arrival, Gemma was sorted into Hufflepuff, and began figuring out magic as well as establish a social life. Gemma was mostly unremarkable in her school years, she was a borderline poor student, and about average socially. She became the keeper for her house team in her fourth year, and the year after that was named a prefect.

Gemma graduated next to last in her class, and afterward spent a long time trying to get a job with her pitiful NEWT scores. Though before she could secure herself in the adult world, her parents went through a bitter divorce, her father running off without looking back, leaving his children and their mother penniless. With nowhere to turn, Gemma took up a job at the apothecary, struggling to make ends meet, but her feeble contributions weren't helping. At nineteen, she secretly took up a second job, one that did allow her to dance, just not in the way she had envisioned.

She earned much more being an exotic dancer, and things seemed to be looking up, though it was not meant to last. When she was twenty-two her mother fell ill, putting further financial strain on them with expensive medical bills added into the mix of things. Her brothers also took up jobs to help cover costs, and Gemma began taking more hours at both her jobs, though it's barely enough, and their mother is steadily deteriorating. Things have only gotten worse since Gemma learned of her father's second marriage, to a woman only two years older than herself, nonetheless. Gemma is trying the best she can to keep everything together, even when her world seems to be falling apart...
