A large room containing a fireplace and suitable seating for many students. Raug had entered with a smile on his face and worry in his voice. This would be the beginning of his crusade.
'Say something witty,' Raug thought sitting next to another student, 'The worst that can happen is they won't reply.' Raug hadn't payed much attention to his other classmates and hadn't really talked to anyone other than his professors. As and experiment he had decided to make a friend. He hadn't made any friends before due to concentration on studies, fencing, charms, etc. The group commons were flourishing with conversation and camaraderie, if only Raug could join in. He never had trouble speaking in front of classes when asked, he was quite good at it, but in social situations he lacked the ability to strike up a conversation. For the past half hour he had been attempting to say something to someone, only to have them turn away before words escaped his lips. In another endeavor he had attempted to insert himself in a conversation held by a party of fifth year Hufflepuffs. Sitting with the group he felt uneasy and out of place. 'Perhaps finding someone of the same year? Same house?' he thought. He had to do something other than what he had done.
Raug sat himself in an antique armchair despairingly. A few second year Ravenclaws walked past he'd seen before. 'Maybe they'll talk to me,' He thought standing halfway before slinking to his chair again, 'No probably not.' He had thought of enlisting a tutor for a human interaction, though he didn't need it. Raug picked up his favourite book: Quintessence: A Quest and began to read just as someone came into the group commons looking all but melancholic. They set a few books down beside them and began writing something on a peice of parchment.
Raug strutted to a student sitting on a couch and thrust his hand forward. As they looked up Raug said,"Hello, my name is Raug Vinchenzo Moretti son of Adelade Adriana Volcout and Achille Adriano Moretti, it is a pleasure to meet you."
'It was a bold enough action surely they would reply.' A short silence fell around the room upon hearing such a formal introduction.
