Distinguishing Features: James, from afar, is mostly unremarkable, it's upon getting closer that people realize any features that set him apart. Most notably are his eyes- he has a case of complete heterochromia, his left eye is a soft blue that can border on gray, while the right is vivid green. Aside from his eyes, James has several small scars over his body from a lifetime of clumsiness, though nothing terribly major.
Dressing Style: James doesn't really put much thought into the way he dresses, jeans and t-shirts with sneakers usually suit him just fine, though he'll switch it up with the occasional button-down. He doesn't really like shoes, so unless it's cold he can be counted on to be barefoot. James' lack of care in his appearance extends into his school uniform, his shirt is typically wrinkled and untucked, and he can never get the tie to lie straight. But on the very rare occasion where care is called for, he'll scrub the dirt from beneath his finger nails, and clean up nicely- though he always needs someone to do his tie for him.
PERSONALITY
Personality Description: James is, most notably, uncomfortable in his own skin, he's a very shy young man with a handful of quirks and a whole lot of awkwardness. He's torn between wanting to be social and have friends, and yet at the same time being utterly terrified of people. James is very wrapped up in what others think and making them happy, enough so to the point where he's been known to forget about his own wants and needs. He's timid to a fault, and very easily taken advantage of, but in spite of this he manages to remain caring and generous, he'd give his last knut if it came down to it.
James really is a sweetheart, if someone is willing to put up with all the awkward silences it takes to get to know him. Academically, he's not terribly gifted, his intelligence takes root in places other than books- he's good with his hands and connecting to non-human things, always finding it easier to make an animal warm up to him than a person. He also is surprisingly musically gifted, though he doesn't like showing off.
Likes: Animals of all shapes and sizes, herbology, potions, spring, tea, Harlow Knight, food, flying, classical music, unconventional art.

History: James was born on a crisp October morning to Oliver and Alicia Wood, his birth was a bit of a surprise- given that the couple hadn't exactly planned on having children. They took having an addition to their family in stride, however, and soon began to realize they liked being parents, even though Alicia decided to give up her promising career with the Holy-Head Harpies. Nevertheless, James had a privileged childhood, though his parents' attitudes allowed him to remain humble. All throughout growing up James was surrounded by Quidditch, hence it was a bit of a disappointment to his parents when he turned out to be a total klutz.
Oliver never gave up on his dreams of his son following in his footsteps, however, and continued to encourage James to take up the sport. He tried as a child, but he had other struggles. From the moment he began speaking in complete sentences, James had a rather prevalent struggle, and as such was teased by the other children. This drove him to shyness, as well as finding comfort in animals. They instinctively trusted him, and he cared for them easily, making friends with even the most grumpy of beasts.
At eleven, James went to Hogwarts as his parents had, and dealt them another disappointment in being sorted into Hufflepuff, instead of continuing their Gryffindor legacy. James spent the next few years carving himself a comfortable niche, out of the way, and making very close friends with a Ravenclaw in his year, Harlow Knight. At his father's insistence, James joined the Quidditch team at the beginning of this term. Carried to a position by his father's name and reputation as a professional Quidditch player, the school is slowly beginning to recognize James has none of his father's ability, and he is on track to be hailed as the worst keeper Hufflepuff has ever seen.
