As Blaize was off in his own world, Sydney was daydreaming. She pictured a cute little picnic by the lake, a warm summer's day. Then, afterward the duo would go for a walk and then... 'No! Stop! Freeze!' Sydney thought hastily, mentally slashing her pathetic dream into oblivion. She had no idea why she was fantasizing about her and Blaize. After all, he was older, undoubtedly taken by someone else. She looked down at her feet, still skipping stones. She was somewhat ashamed for even gathering up the courage to talk to him.

"Did you want to, um, go to Hogsmeade?" said Blaize, Sydney struck him as the sort of person that would have a lot of friends. He felt it kind of surprising that she was here talking with him, instead of with a circle of friends in the Three Broomsticks. "We don't, um... Have to... Just thought that you'd, um, have friends you wanted to talk with." Blaize added, then skipped another stone.

Sydney smiled. Again, with the stuttering. She found that utterly adorable. She stopped and took his hand, feeling her face flush in excitement. "Sure. But I don't need to see them. Let's go" she replied with a smile. True, she had some good friends. She had Bella after all, but she wanted to spend time with Blaize. She really wanted to get to know him better.

"Oh, uh, okay." said Blaize, then skipped his final stone. He went at Sydney's pace as they walked out of the lake. There was no difference between his calves (that had been under the water) and the rest of him because of the rain. His sodden red hair hung in his eyes, he moved it away somewhat impatiently. He didn't like having his vision compromised. He looked to Sydney, wondering if she were cold. Sure, his cloak was soaking wet, but it would keep her warm. It would probably be huge on her, since he was also more than a foot taller than her. "Are you cold?" Blaize asked.

AS soon as Sydney heard Blaize's question, she shivered. She didn't notice how utterly could she was, but now that he had mentioned it, she was quite frozen. No doubt her lips were turning blue, and her face becoming pale. She could feel all the makeup she had on wash from her face, her clothes sticking coldly to her. Blushing, she nodded slightly. "Just a bit." she joked with a casual, flirty smile.

"Oh, here," said Blaize, taking off his cloak and draping it over Sydney's shoulders. He did so a little clumsily, but at least he had gotten around dropping it in a large puddle of mud. Curse the weather in the United Kingdom; it was rarely nice outside. At least the trees overhead on the path to Hogsmeade gave some shelter from the rain. Blaize too was chilled, but he would be a gentleman and let Sydney use his cloak.

Sydney diverted her gaze nervously. She blushed, her hair covering her cheeks slightly. They were awfully close to each other right now. Her shoulder pressed up against his as they walked. Sydney had this overwhelming urge to just take his hand, but she kept her arms pinned to her sides. She hardly knew him! This was not normal, even for a flirtatious girl such as herself. She looked up, peering through her sopping banks to look at Blaize. He was rather cute, and that red hair... god, she would just die to be able to run her hands through it... But she remained calm.

Blaize stumbled over something, but regained his balance, thankfully without falling. When not on his broom, he was actually quite clumsy. He felt a sudden urge to put his arm around Sydney, but they had just met... Besides, she would probably think it weird because he was older than her by what... Two or three years? He wanted to say something to make him sound cool and smooth, but as usual came up empty-handed. Blaize remained quiet.

Sydney repeatedly tried to force words out of her mouth, but her throat caught. She was usually flirtatious and suave, but not now. She didn't know why, but she had a faint idea. The urge to grasp his hand overwhelmed her mind while she was deep in thought, pondering why she was so embarrassed. Catching the movement quickly, Sydney stopped her hand by snatching it away, but not before her fingers teased, dancing across the back of Blaize's hand. She blushed fervently.

Blaize blushed too, perhaps even more deeply than she because of his fair complexion. He shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans. He still kept quiet, wishing he could say something to smooth over the awkwardness. "So, um," said Blaize. "Uh, yeah." Oh, you freaking idiot, Blaize thought to himself. He actually allowed his hair to sort of fall into his eyes, even though it bothered him to no extent.

Sydney's blush soon died away, and was replaced by another urge Taking a deep breath, she stopped along with Blaize, turned, and brushed the red hair from his eyes. She smiled sheepishly, almost immediately regretting her choice. 'Why did I just do that!?' she thought angrily. But as soon as she thought it, she took it back. After all, it had given her bravery.

Blaize coloured again as Sydney moved his hair away from his eyes, he certainly had not been expecting that. Since he was so tall, he had subconsciously bent his knees so she wouldn't have to reach too far. "Um, shall we keep going?" said Blaize, unsure of how to treat the situation other than entirely awkward. He kept mentally scolding himself for not behaving more smoothly. He supposed it was genetics that made him so socially awkward, as Ron never knew what to say, unless he was having a shouting match with Gabriella or Emily.

Sydney blushed fervently. Tears welled in her eyes and she had to look away momentarily to clear them. She had been stupid. That move had created a totally awkward feeling in the air. She felt so young, so naive. If only she had just been a good little girl and kept her hands to herself.

Blaize bit his lip lightly, and then saw the village of Hogsmeade coming into view. Not many were outdoors, mostly people dashing from shop to shop, trying not to get wet. Blaize wasn't in any rush, they were already soaked, there was no possible way that they could get any wetter. "You don't, uh, mind the Hog's Head, d'you?" said Blaize. "The Three Broomsticks is always crowded." True, the more popular pub was cleaner, but Blaize liked being able to hear what the people around him were saying.

Sydney shook her head. "That's fine. Great, actually." she replied. She preferred the Hog's Head. But not for the reasons Blaize would expect. She followed along silently, her hands buried in her soaking pockets. The blush continued on her cheeks, and now was starting to burn at her ears. No doubt she looked like a painted porcelain doll, with a pale complexion and rosy cheeks.
