Laura walked threw the streets of Diagon Alley. She passed the Ice Cream Parlor. She stopped and starred at it. It had been a long time since she had ice cream. She remembered cold creamy ice cream melting in her month. Someone walked out eating an ice cream cone. It was...

Hiroku had just gotten back from France, where she had been participating in Wolfgang's task. Apparently he would miss her or something like that. Well, they were twins. She walked out of the ice cream parlor, holding a cone of vanilla. She was about to Apparate into Hogsmeade when she saw the little girl standing there. Hiroku bit her lip. She had never been too big into giving homeless people things, but there was just something about the little girl. Before she could change her mind, she came up the girl. "Hi I'm Hiroku," she said with a smile, then stuck out the ice cream for the girl. "You can have it."

Laura starred at her shocked. "No thank you" she said quickly. "It's yours keep it." She just couldn't accept it. It was true that she sometimes stoled things but never from people she knew were kind and cared.

Hiroku widened her eyes at the girl. She looked to be about ten, but no ten year-old Hiroku knew would ever turn down ice cream, at least not willingly. "No seriously, I don't need the sugar," she replied, still holding out the cone. "I don't even know why I bought it anyway." That was true. Hiroku had just had a feeling that she should buy ice cream. She wasn't hungry, or aching for sugar.

"Umm... ok" she said nervously taking it. "Thank you." She slowly licked it and smiled. She loved the taste of the vanilla and the cold on her tough. I froze up her month, melted and slided down her throat.

"You're welcome," Hiroku replied, bringing another rare smile to her face. There was something really rewarding about helping this little girl, whose name she still didn't know. "So what's your name and how old are you?" she asked. Hiroku hated seeing kids on the streets, especially when their parents had just abandoned them. That was just wrong.

She looked up from her delicious ice cream cone. "Laura Colbert and i'm 10" she answered shyly. "Umm... whats your name" she asked. Well she waited for an answer she looked down at her ice cream cone and took anther lick.

[hiroku]

Laura, that's a nice name, Hiroku thought with a slight nod to herself. The fact that she was ten could be taken as a positive or a negative though. It was sad that she was only ten and on the streets alone, but once she turned eleven, she'd probably go to Hogwarts, considering she seemed to be from a magic family. "I'm Hiroku," she replied. "I'm a 7th year at Hogwarts. Are you going to be going there?"

"Yeah" she replied excitedly. She couldn't wait. There would be no more being trapped in the cold and being rained or snowed on. No more hunger pains and no more searching for food and sometimes stealing. She might even fit in with the others like she used to.

Hiroku smiled, remember the day she and Wolfgang had gotten their letters. That had probably been one of the happiest days of her life, knowing she didn't have to put up with her mother's manners for almost a whole year. "Yeah, Hogwarts is pretty exciting," she replied.

Laura nodded in agreement. She couldn't wait. Finally a chance to live again. She gave her ice cream anther lick. It was so good. Being poor and living on the streets was really helping her realize how great some things were and how great her life was before.

Hiroku then decided something. She was going to do more for Laura; more than even her mother would like. "Where are you staying tonight?" she asked, mentally checking the date. Nope, she was excused from Hogwarts until Monday and today was only Saturday. She had time to kill.

"Umm... where I usually do. Underneath the steps that lead up to the Leaky Cauldron" she replied. She wondered why Hiroku was asking this. She had never been asked a question like this. Of course no body ever talked to her.

[hiroku]

To be truthful, Hiroku was a little bit shocked. That seemed like an awfully small place to sleep, but perhaps it was magically enhanced to be bigger. You could never know. "Why don't you take me there," she suggested. Hiroku had a plan to conjure up a bunch of pillows and blankets for Laura. It got cold at night.

"Umm.... ok" she said. She wondered why Hiroku cared where she sleeped. "Follow me" she said doing a little come here sign with her arm. She lead her threw the swarms of people who were completely unaware of them and to the Leaky Cauldron. "This is it" she said pointing to the steps.
