Tinsel (Gabriella/open)

Isaac stood outside the great hall. Since so many people had left for the holidays, they put the Christmas Ball in there, instead of the entrance hall where it was normally hosted. He had decided to meet Gabriella there. The railings were decorated with tinsel and non-melting icicles. there were bits of mistletoe everywhere, and the suits of armor had been bewitched to sing Christmas carols when someone walked past. Of course, Isaac had not been able to resist that temptation to use his own wand and modify the lyrics. It was fun. He fingered the little box in his pocket, he would ask Gabriella tonight. He didn't know what he would do if she refused. Hopefully she would say yes... But at least she wasn't a telepathic like Luke or Jenna. Isaac was wearing new dress robes, simple black ones with a gold hem. He had worn them to the family reunion he had been forced to go to. Isaac withdrew his hand from his pocket, where was Gabriella?

For whatever reason had crossed her mind, Gabriella had decided to make herself a dress over the past week. She used her saved up money to buy fabric and then had sewed the thing together, partly by hand and partly by magic. So now she had a brilliant strapless gold dress to wear to the ball.

Gabriella crossed over the entrance hall to where Isaac was standing and tapped him on the shoulder. "Hello my Romeo," she said with a grin as she took his hand.

Isaac had smelled Gabriella before she was there, but he had to act normally. He grinned as he placed his hands on her hips. "Good evening, my Juliet." Isaac whispered back, then kissed her forehead. He had had some blood only a few hours ago, so he would be set for the entire evening. "Shall we go in?" Isaac asked, gently taking Gabriella's hand in his own.

"I believe that we must," Gabriella replied, getting a bit excited at the thought of dancing around at one of the Hogwarts balls again. At the last one Isaac hadn't been able to attend and then Angel had gotten poisoned. Well, hopefully this one wouldn't end quite so badly. Gabriella gently pulled on Isaac's hand and they walked into the Great Hall together. Gabriella smiled at the sounds of the music.

Isaac had not attempted dancing in a long while. It had been... The Christmas Ball last year. Wow, that had certainly been a long time. He was nervous about asking Gabriella that question, but he knew that it was now or never. Or at least, until he proposed they go for a walk in the garden. "May I have this dance, Miss Weasley?" said Isaac, bowing slightly.

"Why of course, Mr. Malfoy," Gabriella replied with a slight curtsey and a smile. She let him lead her out onto the dance floor and then they began dancing to a slow song. Happiness glowed from Gabriella's face and the magic in the air could almost be seen.

Dancing seemed much easier now. The tune of the slow waltz perfectly matched their gentle footsteps. He barely noticed the tempting smell of blood. The only person that mattered to him was Gabriella. Nobody else. That question felt as if it was burning a hole through his tongue, but he held it back. Not until the perfect moment. He had waited since late October, a few more hours wouldn't make a difference. "You are exceedingly beautiful tonight," Isaac commented.

"Just as you are exceedingly handsome, my love," Gabriella replied easily. The words were simple ones, but now they rolled out of her mouth so much easier than ever before. Isaac was her love, her true love, her only love. And the waltz was fantastic.

Isaac smiled as he gazed into Gabriella's eyes. He had changed when they had started seeing each other. He was dangerously close to going down the path his father was on, but she had pulled him away, Isaac could clearly see his errors now. The song had ended and another, slightly faster tune began to play. "Would you like to continue dancing, my love?" said Isaac.

Gabriella grinned, glad that Isaac had asked because she didn't want to stop now. Maybe after a few more songs. "I would love to," Gabriella replied as she began to dance with him to the beat of the faster song, her steps light as air.

Isaac smiled a bit, he rather enjoyed dancing now. He continued to lead, as it was customary for the male to do. He had no problem with it now. There weren't many people there, and it seemed strange, since they were the only ones dancing on the floor at the moment.

Gabriella took a quick glance around, noticing that they were the only ones dancing on the entire floor. Well that was certainly a bit odd, and made things a little bit awkward. But she didn't mind much, she was with Isaac, it was all good. "We're the only ones dancing," she commented to him, still moving with him.

"I know," said Isaac. But he wasn't too concerned about it. The only person in the world that was present in his mind was Gabriella. The others were just there, no importance to him whatsoever. He just continued to look into his girlfriend's eyes and dance. He didn't even feel awkward.

Gabriella could hear in his voice that this didn't bother him in the slightest. Good, because it didn't bother her either. The song ended again and another one began. "Keep dancing or go take a break?" Gabriella asked her boyfriend.

"Whatever you please, gorgeous." said Isaac. He wanted to take her out into the garden at some point during the night, but it didn't have to be anytime soon, in fact, he was planning on waiting until later. Dancing didn't tire him anymore, he no longer tripped over his feet.
