Boxes of Blood (Isaac/open)

He paused by the lake, and looked at Gabriella. She seemed weak to him. She probably had not hunted at all. Not wanting another argument, Isaac didn't say anything. He gave her hand a gentle squeeze and shot her a small smile. "Care to sit down?" Isaac asked, tilting his head toward a large rock on the bank.

"Yes," Gabriella replied, only a bit too quickly. She was relieved that he had offered, she really would be more comfortable sitting at the moment. Gabriella climbed over to the rock, ignoring her stiff legs again. She climbed onto it and sat there, waiting for Isaac to follow.

Isaac sat beside her, staring out onto the dark, unmoving surface of the lake. He thought about his parents for the first time in a long while. They hadn't even sent him a howler. He supposed they thought he would drop out. But unlike his father, Isaac wanted to do something with his life. He just wasn't sure what yet. He gently took one of Gabriella's hands in his own, he loved her so much. Isaac picked up a stone. He threw it, remembering that he used to skip stones a lot when he was younger. He had underestimated his own strength. The stone had flown clear across the water. Isaac sighed.

Gabriella watched the stone fly, also thinking of her parents. What would they say if they saw her now? Her father would be furious, her mother would be shocked speechless. Oddly enough, Gabriella didn't care anymore. It was like they were part of a past life, and she had moved on, leaving her parent's ideas behind her.

Couldn't he just be normal, if only for a little while? Isaac held back a sigh, he knew that he would never really be the typical image of "normal". He had given up on skipping stones, then slipped his arm around Gabriella's shoulders. "Love you," Isaac said.

Gabriella smiled softly, her thoughts focusing back on Isaac. The words were so simple, and yet so powerful. "Love you too," Gabriella said, as if right on cue. She leaned in a bit while under Isaac's arm, fitting perfectly against his cold body.

With his other hand, Isaac brushed the hair from Gabriella's face and gave her a small smile. Right now, it didn't matter that he had brutally killed so many. He wasn't a freak right now. Isaac was just a teenager ridiculously in love with his girlfriend. Nothing too weird about that.

Gabriella, on the other hand, still felt like a vampire. She could hear that her heart wasn't pounding like a normal person's and smell her own scent. She hadn't let herself forget in a long time. Gabriella relaxed her body a bit in Isaac's arms.

Isaac laid his hand atop Gabriella's gazing into the surface of the lake. A dark outline of a tentacle was barely visible below the black abyss, the giant squid was lazily floating through the cold water. Perhaps it was sleeping. It must be a good life being the squid, no worries, just floating and eating.

Gabriella chuckled softly unpon seeing the squid's tentacle rise above the surface of the smooth lake. She hadn't seen the giant squid in a long time now, but her memories of times when she had seen it were quite fond.

Isaac remained silent. The quietness wasn't awkward, it was peaceful to him, not tense, like the silence he usually endured when around his parents. It was great knowing that he would be retreating to an apartment in Wales, not going to his parents' for Christmas.

Gabriella suddenly thought of something that she had forgotten to ask Isaac about. She sat up a bit straighter. "I've heard that you ran away from your parents' house this summer," she said. "Did you really?" It was probably true, Isaac loathed his parents.

[malfoy]

"Ah, so the rumors did get around." said Isaac. "Yeah, Allison and I ran away. I stole some money from the vault at Gringotts and bought an apartment in Wales. I'm going there for Christmas." Isaac had completely forgotten that he had run away in the first place, his parents weren't that big a part in his life anyways.

[igloogirl]

Gabriella smiled a bit. "Lucky duck," she teased lightly, remembering how she and Emily had convinced their mother to let them stay at Hogwarts for Christmas. It would be so much better than going home. But it seemed like Gabriella would never have the money to buy her own place.

Isaac gave a small chuckle. "You know that you're always welcome to come over if you want to." said Isaac. "It would beat a holiday around your dad, unless the rumors that you and Emily guilt-tripped your mum into staying for Christmas are true." He smiled a bit.
