Angel made a faint clicking noise, then took in a deep breath. She dove, swimming down until the pale moonlight could not be seen anymore. She grasped something in her paws, an oyster. Angel hurriedly swam back up. When sh resurfaced she began the process of cracking it open against something hard. It cracked open, and inside it was a small, shiny pearl.

Jenna gasped with delight. "Angie, that's the prettiest pearl I've ever seen!" Jenna exclaimed. She had never known that oysters with pearls could be at the bottom of the black lake. It was positively amazing to see one.

Angel stretched out the oyster with her tiny paws, as if offering it to Jenna. There were a few others at the bottom. She smiled, as best as she could as an otter. It would be easier if Angel were telepathic, then she could speak with Jenna.

"For me?" Jenna asked in surprise as she took the oyster and pearl from the tiny otter's paws. "Thanks Angie," Jenna replied, holding the oyster as if it were the most precious thing in the world. Jenna briefly dove under the water again and then resurface, still holding the oyster.

Angel made a faint clicking noise in response. Communication was horrible in her animal form, which was why she normally went swimming alone. angel took in another deep breath and dove again. She could hold her breath a long time... After a few little flips and loop-the-loops, Angel resurfaced.

Jenna laughed. It was very odd to see an otter in the lake, and even weirder that it was Angel. All of her flips were quite amazing though, and Jenna could only smile and laugh. Taking a deep breath, Jenna dove under the water, kicking as she continued down. It was getting darker, and she was running out of air. She still couldn't see the bottom. Shrugging a bit, Jenna resurfaced.

Angel floated lazily on the surface of the water, staring up at the stars. She was reminded vividly of her first date with Wolfgang. They had laid on the ground and looked up at the clear sky together. Only tonight wasn't full moon, it was a waning gibbous. Thankfully.

Jenna smiled as she watched Angel float upon the water. She wished she could be an otter for a moment, although she probably could Transfigure herself. Still, it wasn't exactly safe and she didn't want to break any rules at the moment. Jenna kicked softly, beginning to float around.

Angel really wanted to be able to talk with Jenna, but the water would be terribly frigid if she were a human at the moment. She wondered if Jenna would be able to read her mind as an otter. She hadn't thought of that before.

Hi Angie, Jenna projected into her mind upon reading her latest thought. She had almost forgotten about this, but her latest slip had caused her to remember that she could read the mind of an Animagi. Got anything to say? she asked.

Angel the otter jumped a bit, she had not been expecting a sudden intrusion of her mind. Erm, you can read my mind while I'm an otter? If so, that might make things a bit easier. Angel thought, transferring onto her stomach so she could float that way.

Jenna opened her mouth to reply, but then decided it would be easier to just project her thoughts into Angel's head. She seemed to be able to hear her well enough. Yes, I can read the mind of an Animagi, she projected, almost adding a bit about a sane werewolf, but deciding against it.

Angel swam in circles around Jenna, pondering about how to respond. That's awesome! Being a telepathic must be great. Bit like being a human lie-detector, really. Angel thought, then dove under the water a few feet and popped right back up in front of Jenna.

Jenna chuckled slightly. She had never thought of a human lie detector before, but she supposed it was true. No one that hadn't been a telepathic had decieved her since she had discovered her power. Still, it wasn't always fun. Yes, sometimes it's nice, Jenna projected. But it feels really intrusive when I read someone's mind. I try to avoid it, but that's harder than reading a mind.

Angel the otter scratched her chin with a tiny paw. But isn't Telepathy something that you can control? Or is it something that just happens when you're not thinking about it? Angel thought as she began to float on her back again.
