Whispers (open)

Jenna came into the old classroom, her head pounding. All day she had heard little whispers in the hallways, except when she looked to see who was whispering, no one had been there. It was driving her crazy. She collapsed onto an ancient chair, rubbing her temples in distress. The whispering in her head continued and she thought her head was about to explode when...everything stopped.

Jenna looked up, there was a person standing in the room, though the door hadn't opened. Jenna's eyebrows raised automatically, but she stood and stuck out her hand. "Hi, I'm Jenna?" she said, her voice sounding more like a question than a statement.

The girl in front of her laughed. "I won't be shaking your hand," she said after a moment. "I'm Lily Jordan, former Ravenclaw. I died ten years ago at my home in London." Lily must've noticed the look of shock on Jenna's face. "You didn't know you were a Medium, did you?" she asked. Jenna shook her head. She had read about Mediums, but she never had thought she would be one. "Well, I guess I should tell you the rules," Lily said, pushing her long blond hair back with a pale hand. That's when Jenna noticed that she looked slightly faded, but otherwise perfectly normal. Not a ghost, but not alive either.

"There are rules?" Jenna asked slowly, her hand falling to her side uselessly. Lily nodded a "yes" in reply. She paced a few steps before she spoke again.
"First, a person has to be dead at least a month before they can appear to a Medium," she said. "Second, they can't appear to that person more than once a day. I don't know why. Third, a Medium can't touch an un-dead one. Otherwise the Medium will never see them again. Go that?"
Jenna nodded slowly. That's when the door opened and Jenna turned around. She glanced back over her shoulder and Lily was gone. The whispers started in her head again, but Jenna still smiled at...

Isaac. He had been pointlessly wandering around, trying to come up with new ideas of how to get into trouble. His pranks kept him from brooding over what he had done. They were fun, and covered the pain in his eyes. He had heard someone talking, and had went to investigate. "Hey," Isaac said, seating himself on a desk.

Jenna smiled at him, she knew his name already because he was a Malfoy and her cousin, Gabriella, was dating him. "Hello Isaac," Jenna said quietly, sitting back down in the old chair. The soft evening's light poured through one window and Jenna sighed. "What brings you here?" she asked.

"Chronic insomnia," Isaac said indifferently, only telling part-truth. "I heard someone talking and decided to see who it was." He crossed his legs, then removed his emerald and silver striped tie. "Why are you here Miss Clearwater?" he inquired.

"Headache," Jenna said simply, not bothering to read Isaac's mind to see if what he said was true. She felt like she could trust Gabriella's boyfriend. He had always seemed nice, plus he was Luke's best friend too.

"Fair enough reason," said Isaac. He wondered if Jenna had heard about th applesauce dumping down on innocent passer-by in the Charms corridor. By now, most of the castle had, gossip spread like untamed wildfire around Hogwarts. It was amazingly funny for how immature it was. One of his and Luke's better pranks.

This time Jenna read Isaac's mind. It was something she was trying to control, but it was nearly impossible to not read someone's mind. That's why it was so nice to be with other telepathics. They could block their own mind. "That was me," Jenna said, lying of course, but sounding completely serious.

Isaac arched an eyebrow, this wasn't making any sense to him. "Wait, what was you?" Isaac asked, completely puzzled. He did not relax his eyebrow as he looked to Jenna. He wasn't the best at inferring stuff, he might be a vampire but he was still a guy.

"The applesauce, that was me," Jenna replied, still acting completely serious. "I'm a telepathic, like your friend, Luke is." Inside the safety of her mind, Jenna was laughing extremely hard. It was very comical that Isaac didn't get this.

"Wait, no it wasn't." Isaac said, frowning slightly. He and Luke had set that up, with the help of his brains, of course. Isaac wasn't stupid, but he wasn't the smartest either. He didn't care too much for Jenna's mind games, they made him think too much.

Jenna giggled slightly and then burst out laughing. She had indeed succeeded in confusing Isaac quite a bit. It hadn't been her first goal, but a good result nontheless. "Yes, I know," she said once she had stopped laughing.

"Ah, you're a tricky one, Jenna." Isaac said, knowing that Jenna probably had already read his mind to see what was currently on it. No matter, he would ask anyways. It was awkward being around Telepathics sometimes. "My creativity has run dry, any thoughts on how to get up to some mischief?" Isaac asked.

Jenna shrugged slightly, a bit shocked at the question. She wasn't really the type to pull pranks, but at the moment she was feeling a tad bit mischevious. Still, she didn't really have any ideas for anything. "Not really, sorry," she replied.

"No matter," said Isaac with a shrug. He would be sure to think of something that night. Being a vampire left all his nighttime hours free to dispose of as he pleased, and now it was easy to avoid any Prefects. "Want to bewitch some suits of armor?" Isaac asked.

Jenna shrugged again. This sounded fine to her, as long as they didn't get caught. "Sure," she replied happily. "Seeing as you have all night, we might as well." Jenna stood from the chair and headed toward the door, a sneaky smile on her face.
