Gabriella could see it in Angel's eyes, she was thinking about Jasmine and Ryan too. "Ryan will be okay too," Gabriella said, adjusting her position on the floor a bit. "You and Jasmine both worry so much about them."

"It's difficult not to," Angel said. "The death toll is so high, they're on your mind even more than usual." Angel thought of Wolfgang, they had better be feeding him properly, the French ate lightly. It must be a nasty shock from the heavy British cuisine.

Gabriella gave Angel a very gentle hug. "He'll be okay," she replied. "The death toll isn't that high." Gabriella remembered reading about it. The death toll was about half a person per tournament. Yes, it was pretty high, Gabriella supposed.

"I just worry so much about him," Angel said, feeling her eyes begin to sting, a sure sign that she was most likely going to cry. If Wolfgang died, she didn't know what she'd do. Kill herself most likely. Life without Wolfgang wasn't much a life at all. "I can't lose him, Gabs, I can't." Angel whispered.

Gabriella sighed. Angel looked close to tears now. She would be completely heartbroken if Wolfgang was killed in the Tournament, just as Jasmine would be if Ryan was killed. Gabriella wrapped her arms a bit more tightly around her cousin. "I know, Angie, I know," she whispered.

Angel was very grateful for Gabriella, she had always been there for her, now wasn't an exception. Her cousin had always been her shoulder to cry on. And vice versa. The cold arms around her were more comforting than Angel ever thought they were. A few tears slipped down her cheeks, Angel allowed them to linger, she needed a good cry.

Gabriella brushed the small tears from Angel's cheeks. She knew telling Angel not to cry would only make her try harder so Gabriella decided to try the opposite. "Cry as much as you want, Angie," she said softly, still holding her cousin.

That was certainly different. Reverse psychology, at least it was an attempt at making her feel better about everything. "Thank you," Angel whispered, allowing her tears to fall silently. When Angel cried, she never sobbed, just allowed silent tears to trickle down to her chin.

Gabriella held her cousin gently. Angel's tears reminded her of how long ago she had cried. She had never sobbed too much before either, but now that she was a vampire and could not physically cry, she chose to sob. "It'll be okay, Angie," Gabriella said in a very soothing voice.

Angel wasn't quite convinced that what Gabriella was telling her was the truth. She just had that feeling in her bones that something wrong was going to happen. Perhaps this was just her paranoia. She was prone to have some at times. Her eyes stung, she cried them dry on a routine basis. Angel wiped her tears away. "Thank you," Angel whispered again.

Gabriella was paranoid as well. What would become of Angel if something happened to Wolfgang? Or to Jasmine if something happened to Ryan? All of their lives would be turned upside-down, backwards, and sideways. It was nearly unthinkable. And yet, Gabriella knew that something would happen. But she didn't know what it could be.

"I'm being dreadfully silly," said Angel, rubbing her eyes a bit, they still stung, probably because they were completely dried out now. She sniffed, wishing that she had put her hair up. "Wolfgang is a big boy, he can take care of himself-" she began, paused, then began to talk again. "Who am I kidding? If it weren't for me he would never comb his hair!"

Gabriella smiled a bit at that. "Naw, he almost always combs his hair," she told Angel, trying to lighten her up. "But yes I suppose he does more regularly now that he has you." Gabriella pulled Angel's hair back with her hands, securing it with a rubber band.

"He never does get it quite tidy," Angel said with a small smile. Her eyes still stung, she wished it would go away. Just like the stupid Tournament. If it weren't for that thing, she wouldn't be crying herself to sleep every night, she would get to see Wolfgang everyday...

"There's the smile I love," Gabriella said, smiling a bit herself. "Just remember all the good times Angie. You'll see him again soon enough." Gabriella craddled her cousin in her arms once more and then gently let go.
