Angel looked at Gabriella, her eyes saying what her mouth was unable to. She didn't know what she would do if Gabriella were gone. She was always there for her, when nobody else could be. She always understood, no matter what the subject was.

Gabriella looked into Angel's eyes, feeling like she was reading the words Angel wanted to say. "I'll always be here for you, Angie," Gabriella promised, vowing to herself that she would. She would never let her cousin down.

"You have no idea what that means to me," Angel whispered. She would never allow herself to get angered with Gabriella ever again. Before either of them could do or say anything, Angel threw her arms around her cousin, almost crying, but finding that her eyes were incapable of producing more tears.

Gabriella was a bit surprised by Angel's sudden hug, but she hugged her cousin back, feeling a bit odd that she couldn't cry or anything. The hug was rather comforting and Gabriella hoped they could be happy. Even if she didn't deserve it, Angel certainly did.

Gabriella was cold as ice to Angel's slightly warmer than usual werewolf body. It was sort of comforting to her in a way. Angel let go, just a tiny bit embarrassed. "If you didn't need to breathe I would apologize for nearly strangling you." Angel said, wiping her eyes, hoping it would stop the stinging. It didn't work as planned.

Gabriella giggled. It was good to hear Angel crack a joke, especially in such a sad moment. "Well, I definitely accept that almost-apology then," Gabriella replied. "But you didn't nearly strangle me, you just hugged me." Gabriella gave Angel a smile, noticing that she was rubbing her eyes. Gabriella bit her lip, trying to think of something that would help.

Angel had to work hard at returning the smile. They were a lot harder to conjure these days. She just couldn't wait until she went to France to see Wolfgang. He was the only person she had felt she loved. Sure, she had had a few boyfriends before him, but they weren't the same. Wolfgang was fun, and lose. Angel missed him. "I've been told I'm like my Mum, strangling hugs." Angel said quietly. Unable to tolerate her stinging eyes any longer, she whipped out her wand and performed a simple spell. It helped, sort of.

Gabriella chuckled softly, but her heart wasn't really in it. "Yes, your mum does strangle a bit when she hugs people," Gabriella said, trying to be light-hearted. "But you're not quite so bad. And it doesn't hurt me anyway."

"Of course, I always forget about that." Angel said, running her finger along her wand that she had made herself, since the Death Eaters had broken hers. Fifteen and a quarter inches, juniper with a unicorn hair. It suited her, and had her own little artistic flair. It had taken her about three hours to make, but it worked, which astounded her. "You haven't really changed," added Angel.

Gabriella frowned slightly. On the inside, she noticed every change that had been made, and recognized every difference in herself. But she supposed that she still acted like the same old Gabby Weasley, smart and brave, or whatever else people thought of her. "Well, thanks Ang," Gabriella replied.

"You don't have to thank me," Angel said, still feeling like she needed to cry, but knowing that would be hard now. Her eyes were still dry and stinging profusely. Angel would give anything to have things back the way that they used to be.

"Yes I do," Gabriella replied with a small smile. "I would feel stupid if I didn't." Gabriella noticed the look in Angel's eyes like she wanted to cry again, but couldn't. Gabriella supposed her eyes were stinging or something.

"It's nothing that I've done that kept you from changing," Angel explained. "It was you who has kept you the same person, I had nothing to do with it." She could use a drink. Angel had one from time to time, but never so much to the point where she got drunk. Just a little to loosen her up a bit.

Gabriella shrugged, thinking that Angel was probably right. She usually was anyway. "You haven't changed much either, you know," Gabriella replied. "Except for the obvious things that have changed, your still the amazingly-smart Angel that you've always been."

Angel blushed slightly. She knew she was smart, but having people telling her that she was made her feel good. She gave a small smile. "Thank you," said Angel. She supposed that she was rather intelligent. She had gotten all O's on her Ordinary Wizard Level tests, even in divination, which her Aunt Hermione called a "woolly" subject.
