"Ah, don't bother, you know it's true," Gabriella replied, a small amount of playfullness in her tone. She knew all about Angel's scores on her O.W.L.s, and Gabriella had gotten the exact same. The gene must run in the family or something.

Angel gave a small smile. Yes, yes she knew it was true, but she was too modest to go around showing it off. She was feeling a bit stronger now, perhaps she would be able to make her way downstairs. At least a floor or two.

Gabriella could see some strength returning in Angel's small frame. "Ready to start back down?" she asked, preparing to get up off the floor. It would take her less than a second ocne she decided to. Gabriella felt bad for Angel, it wasn't her fault she was so weak now. If only Gabriella had stopped Isabelle sooner.

"Yes, I think that I can go down a whole two floors," said Angel. She used the wall to push herself up from the floor. She would not have any of this assistance junk, she was perfectly capable of doing everything herself. angel felt a tiny bit lightheaded, but the sensation would go away once they got moving.

"Alright, then lead the way, Ang," Gabriella said, opening the door before Angel could react. She held the door open, letting her cousin pass first so she could catch her if she should fall on the stairs. Gabriella hoped this wouldn't happen.

Angel didn't really like the fact that Gabriella held the door open for her, she wanted to be independent, she didn't need help from anyone. Not with the doors, not with anything. Since she wasn't the confrontational type, she didn't say anything. She needed her energy for all those stairs anyways. Angel began the long walk down, knowing that Gabriella would want to carry her down.

Gabriella could see the indepent look in Angel's eyes once more. "Aw Angie, just let me hold a door open for once," Gabriella said, a small amount of playfulness in her voice. "You know Isaac always has to hold them for me." Gabriella followed her cousin out, shutting the door behind her.

"Yes, but that's how men are," Angel said, knowing that she must be going dreadfully slow for Gabriella's taste. But she knew that her cousin was too kind to say anything about it. "I don't care how weak I am, I need to be able to get around myself." said Angel.

Gabriella sighed, trying to decide if she should continue to argue her point or just let the matter drop and let Angel get down the stairs. Gabriella dropped the discussion, following down the stairs after her cousin, who was going quite slow. Gabriella was patient, so she didn't let this bother her.

Angel was losing stamina quickly. She didn't really want to climb all the way down the stairs again. "I'm going to make the stairs fuse together for a moment," Angel said. She whipped out her wand and performed the spell. The stairs slid together, making a smooth stone slide. She stayed on her feet, sliding quickly down the newly formed slide.

Gabriella laughed as she and Angel slid down the slide that was formerly the stairs. "Nice spell, Angie," Gabriella commented, as they reached the bottom of this particular level. Gabriella performed the counter-charm and the slide they had just come down turned back into stairs.

"Thank you," said Angel, straightening her robes a bit. "Rather useful, that is, if you're the only one on the stairs." She remained poised with perfect posture, despite how exhausted she already was. That was just how Angel was, prim and proper, not matter how tired she got.

Gabriella smiled, nodding at Angel's last comment. "So are we stopping at this floor?" Gabriella asked, remembering they were on the sixth floor now. Perhaps Angel would want to go to her common room or rest in a corridor or something.

"You know," said Angel, beginning to walk again, though a bit more slowly. "I think that I will be able to make it all the way downstairs for dinner." In truth, she would probably need to stop on the fourth floor, but she would force herself to keep going, even if she began to feel faint, which happened sometimes.

Gabriella shrugged, nodding happily at Angel. She glanced at the stairs, a smile coming to her face. "Since no one is here, I think we ought to slide again," Gabriella said. Without waiting for a response, she performed the spell and slid down the stone path, landing gracefully on the bottom.
