"I'm fine," Gabriella replied. "Just a bit mad at myself right now. After I check on Angel I think I'll go run. I'll find blood tomorrow. The nurse should be able to help me, they always have extra blood for whatever reason."

Jasmine smiled. "Of course." she replied. Together they walked back down to the hospital wing to check on Angel. She was still out cold, but she was laying in a white hospital bed. Jasmine wanted to leave Angel alone, yet she wanted to stay and wait for her to awaken.

Gabriella noticed the look in Jasmine's eyes as she looked at Angel. "Tell you what," Gabriella began. "You stay here for fifteen minutes with Angel. Then when I'm done running, you can go do whatever without worrying about her."

Jasmine breathed a sigh of relief. "Thanks Gabs. Have fun..." she trailed off, waving as Gabriella left. She sat down on the bed next to Angel and gripped her cousins hand lightly. She stroked her hair as she thought about why she was so torn.

Gabriella smiled as she calmly walked out of the hospital wing and down the hall. She flew down the stairs much faster than humanly possibly and sprinted out the front doors, pushing them open as she went. A rush of cold air hit her face as she came outside. Gabriella breathed a sigh of relief and took off for the woods.

After a few minutes, Gabriella stopped to rest in a clearing. She walked around in circles, thinking hard. Then she smelled someone. Whipping her head around she came face to face with...Him. The vampire. The one that had Turned her. She gasped in surprise and he smiled.

"Hello Gabriella," he said coolly, speaking as though it were effortless to talk to her. When Gabriella said nothing, he spoke again, but this time in a much more commanding voice. "Turn around," the strange voice said.

Though Gabriella had no wish to do so, she did just that, her muscles turned her without any thought. Gabriella was about to whip back around, but he was already right in front of her. "What was that?" she asked, her head starting to ache.

"Don't resist," he whispered, chuckling slightly. "Don't you know that I can control you?" Gabriella did know, she had read it. He Turned her, now he had complete control over her. "No," she whispered, horrified. He laughed again. "Go now, Gabriella. We will meet again."

Unable to stop herself even if she had wished, Gabriella took off back among the trees. She sprinted to the castle, where she stood to breathe for a few minutes, trying to compose herself. "I can't let him control me," she whispered desperately. As calmly as she could manage, Gabriella walked back up to the hospital wing and up to Jasmine and Angel.

Jasmine was pacing around the room when Gabriella walked in. She noticed the slight look of distress on her face, but said nothing. She gave her a questioning look, and left it at that. She continued to pace, it was taking forever for Angel to wake up in her opinion.

"Go take a walk," Gabriella said to Jasmine, slightly distracted. "You're too stressed. Relax, she'll be fine." The situation was tense, and Gabriella longed for a laugh or even a smile. She wished that Angel would wake up.

Jasmine attempted to soften the situation by cracking one of her famous, all-knowing smiles, but it came up distorted. "You're right, I'll be back soon." she replied. Walking out the door, she quickly felt her heart skip a beat. Something was different, but she couldn't place a finger on it.

Angel stirred, feeling rather ill still, but most of the poison was gone. The road to her recovery would be a long one. But she would be able to make it. She opened her eyes, the dim hospital wing ceiling was all she could she. Angel shakiliy sat up, despite the fact it made her head pound uncomfortably.

"Bye Jasmine," Gabriella said as she sat on a chair next to Angel's bed. It was then that her cousin woke up. Angel was sitting up. Gabriella grinned, trying to forget the exchange with the vampire. "Hey Ang," she whispered.

Jasmine had walked clear out into the grounds, by the Black Lake. The Lake had so many fond memories, she just needed one place to be able to sort out her mind. She sat down under the tree and racked her brain for what was wrong. She knew something was, she just couldn't place it.

Angel looked at Gabriella's face, although she couldn't blush anymore, Angel knew her cousin was hiding something from her. Angel's stomach churned, she felt the strong need to vomit, so she did, then grabbed her wand from the bedside table and vanished it. "You're hiding something." Angel said weakly.

Gabriella looked away from Angel. Her cousins always seemed to know everything. But this wasn't something Gabriella wanted to share. She felt weak, and ashamed that she had been controlled so easily. It wasn't normal. "Nothing new," Gabriella said quietly.

Angel raised her eyebrows, this sent an extraordinary pain through her head. She felt dizzy. But she was not letting up on Gabriella until she told her what was going on. She probably feels guilty for biting me. Angel thought, but she wasn't entirely sure. "You know you can trust me." Angel said.

Gabriella wasn't about to give in. She felt this was something that she couldn't admit right now. She had to think more, and she would have time to do that later. So, Gabriella picked one of her many recent troubles to discuss with Angel. "I caught Alec cheating, and Isaac loves me," she said, turning back to her cousin.
