Jenna squinted in the bright light of the waiting room as she went to sign out one of her patients. It was her first day back on the job after giving birth to Aaron and Ivy. Her twins were doing well health-wise, but Jenna hadn't been expecting two kids and the strain was starting to show. She regretted not having a fellow Healer check the gender of the baby, that would have revealed that they were twins. Jenna hadn't wanted to know, but now she wished that she had asked.
Ignoring her total exhaustion, Jenna smiled at the man who was leaving. She flipped through the patient log and wrote down the man's name and the time he was leaving. Jenna signed her name. "Alright, you're free to go," she told him. "Make sure you come back if anything worsens." The man thanked her and started to leave. It was then that Jenna allowed herself to rub her tired eyes.
She was grateful for her Time-Turner, but occasionally Jenna wished that she had never gotten one in the first place. Then she would have been just at home instead of two places at once. And after a few more weeks, Jenna would have put the twins in daycare while she was at work. But as things were, she was living a double life. But the exhaustion came with the territory, she supposed.
Jenna slid the paperwork back across the desk, depositing the pen in one of the pockets of her lime green robes. She inhaled deeply, trying to mentally prepare herself for the afternoon of taking care of patients. The moment she was prepared to head back up the stairs, though, a familiar face came into the waiting room. Jenna soon found herself looking up at...

Angel smiled at her cousin, the signs of the stress and exhaustion that came along with motherhood and a full-time job covered up with tasteful clothing and makeup. She considered herself lucky to have found a good daycare for Isaiah and Morgayne, so it was no longer necessary to use her Time-Turner on a routine basis. But today she had come to see Jenna while on her lunch break, with a couple of gifts for her cousin's own set of twins. "Hello Jenna," Angel said, unable to mask the tiredness in her voice.

A smile came across Jenna's face as she saw that it was her cousin, Angel. "Hello Angie," Jenna said in reply, looking up at her much taller cousin's face. "How are you?" Angel didn't appear to be nearly exhausted as Jenna felt, but Jenna figured she was just good at covering up how tired she was. Angel had certainly had more practice at this than Jenna had; she still wasn't used to being a mother.

"Entirely exhausted," said Angel with a small smile, although it wasn't completely convincing. She had not felt truly happy in a long time, she felt far too overworked to be anywhere near happy. There was too much going on for much glee anyways, so many deaths, with nowhere to turn to figure out Isabelle's next move. "But I've brought you some things for Ivy and Aaron," Angel added, having a slight hint of cheerfulness in her tone.

"Join the club," Jenna said with a wry smile in between Angel's comments. Jenna perked up a bit at the mention of Angel having things for Ivy and Aaron. Frankly, at this point, Jenna could use pretty much all the help she could get with the twins. No longer having a boyfriend or living with her parents, she felt entirely alone in her attempts to be a good mother. Penelope and Percy had offered to help a couple of times, but Jenna didn't feel entirely comfortable leaving her kids at home with her parents, even if she was almost positive they would do a good job. "Oh, that sounds lovely," Jenna said with a half-smile.

"It's nothing much, just some things that I've knitted, but I'm certain you'll like them," said Angel, pulling her coin purse from her pocket. She had taken a leaf out of her aunt Hermione's book when it came to carrying around everything she needed. A simple undetectable extension charm, coupled with a charm that made the bag feather-light, made it easy to carry around everything she needed and then some. After a quick search she found the bundle she had tied up with ribbon. It contained several blankets, hats and booties in various colours, all strictly hand-made without magic. "Here you are," said Angel, offering it to her cousin.

Jenna was a bit surprised when Angel pulled a rather large bundle of knitted objects out of her purse, but nonetheless pleased for it. "Oh, thank you," Jenna said, taking the the bundle from her cousin. "They look beautiful, really," Jenna added, examining the contents to find a few blankets, hats, and tiny boots for Ivy and Aaron. Jenna grinned at Angel, glad for her cousin's help.

"I'm glad you like them," said Angel with a smile. She had found, especially during her long and uncomfortable pregnancy, that she liked to do things with her hands. Forge wands, knit, write... She found that the busier she kept her hands, the better she kept her mind off of things. "I figured you might be a little short on supplies since you weren't expecting twins," Angel added.

Jenna smiled slightly. "Yeah, a bit," she admitted. Jenna had been making do as best she good, but even though her wage at St. Mungo's was good, she still found herself a bit short on money when it came to getting all the things she needed for the twins. She was thankful that she wouldn't need beds for them for a while. At least she would have some time to save up for bigger things like that. "But anyway, how are Isaiah and Morgayne?" Jenna asked, shifting the conversation away from her unexpected pair of twins.

"Fair enough," said Angel, although she frowned a bit. She had been wondering for a long time if keeping her sons was the best idea. Sure, she loved them to pieces, but it was so hard to care for them. It had gotten significantly easier since finding the daycare, but she felt so guilty leaving them with someone else for most of the day. What she wanted was help, but she didn't like asking for it from her friends, Angel felt bad enough as it was asking someone to watch them overnight when the moon was full.

"That's good," Jenna replied absently. She had noticed Angel's frown and was trying to decide why her cousin was upset by this. Jenna supposed she was probably just exhausted from caring for her own set of twins. Jenna knew only too well how much of a strain it was. She loved Aaron and Ivy to death, but things were far from easy when it came to taking care of them.

A sort of awkward silence settled over the pair of them as Angel wasn't sure what to say. She allowed her thoughts to wander a moment in hopes that Jenna might spark up some sort of conversation. Not too unusual, her thoughts went to Bradly, she had not seen him in a long time. Quidditch was keeping him pretty busy, and Puddlemere was doing very well. If they won their next game they would be going to the European Quarterfinals. Angel of course would be listening to her Wizard Wireless the whole way. "Well, if you're busy I don't want to keep you," Angel commented.

Jenna shrugged slightly, she didn't mind Angel's company in the slightest. "It's not a very busy day," Jenna replied. "But I will be on break in a few minutes if you'd like to go out to lunch with me or something." Jenna didn't often leave St. Mungo's for her lunch break, preferring to get something from the staff room and review her patient files. But she supposed that probably had something to do with the fact that she hated to be in a restaurant alone.

"All right," said Angel, smiling, "I know of this nice French cafe, it's only up the block a few buildings. If you want to meet me there I'll get us a table." The place was cute, run by two elderly French immigrants with heavy accents. They sold sandwiches on freshly baked bread, and all sorts of lovely desserts. She didn't often go out for lunch, but when she did Angel liked to go there for the simple food and darling atmosphere.

Jenna smiled, a place like that sounded pretty nice to her. "Alright I'll just change and get checked out," she said, glad that Angel had offered. "I should be able to find it, I think I know what place you're talking about." If Jenna hadn't been wearing lime green robes, she probably just would have left with Angel right then. But her Healer's robes attracted a lot of attention outside of St. Mungo's, even amongst wizards. So Jenna tried to only wear them while at the hospital.
