Sterling smiled, though Nix's words made it all the more a reality to him. Most eighteen-year-olds weren't thinking about what they could do to provide for themselves, let alone a family. But he would make it work, never before had he been so determined to do anything else. He would do well on his NEWT exams, and hopefully go straight into curse-breaking training. He wouldn't make much as an intern, things would be tight, but he was sure he could make it work. He gave Nix a little squeeze. "I'm sure you've picked out a perfect name," said Sterling, he hadn't really wanted to come up with a name anyway, there were too many names out there and he was much too indecisive to narrow it down to one.

Nix smiled as sterling hugged her before feeling cold when his touch was gone, it had gotten colder than she had realised while this had all been happening so she leant away from him to allow herself room to get up. She had decided on the names for her child months ago and it had really been those ideas that had made her want to keep it, but sterlings comment made her feel all the better about it once more.

It was all set in her mind now. Baby born, study, exams, pass, start a shop in hogsmead. All the shops there were quiet if not closing due to the recent attack but she was sure she could make one work, she just didn't know if it would be a book shop or cafe, maybe she would make both in to one. She shook her head to clear it and then stood up slowly using the tree to keep herself up before she wrapped her hands around her arms, it really was cold now.

As Nix moved to get up, Sterling also stood and had turned to offer his hand to Nix, though she had already gotten up. He was certain that it was no easy task getting off the ground while with child, though it seemed that Nix was managing. Figuring that she would want to head inside or at least leave their little spot by the lake, Sterling drew his wand and extinguished the fire that he had conjured some time ago. It simply went out with a small puff of smoke, and after that left no evidence of its existence, not even an inkling of warmth from the crackling flames remained.

Sterling lightly took her hand in his own, figuring that she would not reject the gesture. It seemed that she had finally accepted that he was there to stay, and that felt good to him. Really, the only thing he was concerned with was how his family might react to him and Nix being together, especially since there was a baby in the picture. Sterling figured Katherine would fuss the worst, though he was an adult now, even if she refused to see that.

Nix watched as her patrounus flickered as she turned to it and then she smiled and allowed her mind to wander back a few minutes and it grew brighter before she smiled and allowed her mind to wander and it just disappeared from beside her. She felt sterling slip his hand inside hers and she turned and looked at their hands before smiling weakly, she would have to allow him to ruin his life beside her now.

She twisted her body slowly to face the castle and then she took a single step before tugging playfully on sterlings arm and chuckling ,"come on, it's cold out here" she said in a voice that tried to hide a playful laugh but failed very well at it

Sterling immediately felt the effects of the brightened Patronus, the air around him felt warmer, and that strange happiness that he couldn't possibly explain became greater. It really was a neat bit of magic, one that Sterling hadn't thought of to use in order to keep warm. Though of course, Sterling knew there hadn't been a dementor in the UK since the downfall of Voldemort, the ministry had deported them all to uninhabited polar areas. That did make Sterling feel a little better, knowing that their ministry no longer had anything to do with the terrible creatures. Just reading about them made Sterling's skin crawl.

Sterling allowed Nix to pull on his arm slightly before falling into pace beside her, his hand still wrapped around hers. He couldn't help but smile at the obvious improvement of her mood, this was the Nix he had been wanting to see all along- ever since they had met up in the tower what felt like so many nights ago. Sterling could still hardly believe this was indeed happening, sure he was anxious about actually being a father to a child that was not his own, but on the other, he was excited.

Nix tugged a little more on sterlings arm with an attempt to get him to move a little faster before he started to walk along beside her and she simply slipped on hand under his arm. Nix could now see a few figures walking in and out of the castle, some of them pairs and some of the taller adults going to find and bring back the pairs they had seen leaving. Nix did find it funny that she and her date had walked away alone and not been followed but the tears may have worked to help that, or maybe her now all to clear bump as the last of her potion wore off.

Nix could barely feel the breeze that now blew around and over the pair and it felt like her patrounus had just lighted up her whole body which she guessed was called being truly happy. For the first time in a long long set of months
