Raychel then remembered: the sunlight. She received her wand from the table and wordlessly closed the velvety curtains on the window until there was now ligh emitting from it. She glanced at the clock. She was a very lucky girl. If the boy hadn't found her, she would have perished just hours after she was Turned. Then the dreadful realization hit her. She was a vampire. Raychel looked at her saviour directly for the first time. "Thank you." She replied, voice ringing clear.

"Yeah, no problem," said Zelphar, only now noticing his rugged appearance through a sideways glance at the mirror on the wall. He was grateful for the girl closing the curtains, his sleep-deprived eyes were sensitive to the bright light, even if it wasn't direct. "But how do you feel?" Zelphar asked, concerned about the girl's health.
((OOC: Perhaps you ought to read the thread about vampires in the application board... I'm sorry if I'm being picky, I want our creatures of the night to be consistent.))

Raychel frowned a bit. Would it be relevant, telling a stranger her true health, her true self. "I'm fine." She replied softly. She quickly grasped a mirror lying on her beside table. Everything was so clwar, so pronounced. Then, she noticed her eyes. Black, with hunger. Raychel nonverbally turned her eyes to a random color. The boy hadn't known her before, so her real eye color was not important. "I don't think I ever caught your name. I'm Raychel." She said, hurridly changing the subject.

((OOC: Yes, I'm being very particular, I'm sorry!!! Raychel would be trying to kill Zelphar now, the first few weeks of being a vampire control is practically impossible.))

((OOC: I know. I figured I would cause some dramatic air first. She wakes up and starts talking when she suddenly leaps at him, or something like that))

((OOC: Okay then))
"Zelphar," said he, unable to ignore the feeling in the pit of his stomach that there was something dreadfully wrong, normal people's bones didn't just suddenly repair themselves overnight and were suddenly okay in the morning. Zelphar bent over and began cleaning up the mess that he had conjured trying to figure out what was wrong, it consisted mainly of crumpled parchment and thick, tedious medical books.

Raychel suddenly felt hungry. She looked at Zelphar. Without even realizing, she dropped out of the bed into a crouch. Her lips pulled into a devilish smile without effort. Before she could even attempt to stop herself, she lunged. The rate at which she was moving was astonishing, and exhilarating. She had Zelphar pinned to the floor. As she gazed into his piercing blue eyes, Raychel realized what she was doing. "I'll hold until I can't anymore. Run and find blood. Now!" She hissed, exerting control. It was painful, so much that she was whining from the effort. She sidestepped, letting Zelphar go.

Zelphar yelled in pain at being tackled to the stone floor, but found this girl was five times as strong as he was. He scrambled to his feet, and his eyes quickly found a crate labeled "BLOOD" on the side. Zelphar yanked off the lid with his hands, getting a few splinters in his fingers and threw a bag to the girl, his heart racing, she was a vampire... All of the sudden his injury caught up with him in the form of a heavy agony in his sides, he must have bruised a rib or something of the like.

Raychel caught the bag and tore it open. The blood smelled sickly sweet mixed with the plastic, but she was too hungry to care. She brought the bag to her lips and drained it in one tremendous gulp. She licked her lips free of the blood, surprised to find that she had not left a single drop in the bag, nor had she dripped any onto her clothing. Raychel hurridly retrieved her wand and levitated Zelphar off the floor, placing him upon a bed. "I'll help you in just a minute." She replied quickly, leaping towards the Blood Crate. She tore open another bag and engorged herself. After two more fairly large bags, she was satisfied. She stayed on the opposite end of the room to Zelphar. "What hurts, I'll fix it." She called to him. She wasn't going to get any closer, in fear she might lunge again.

"No, it's okay," said Zelphar, there wasn't much magic could do for bruising, he knew that much. Besides, he was a keeper, and while not knocked around as much as seekers were, he still took a fair beating, it wouldn't be the first time Zelphar had gotten a bruised rib anyways. He looked down at his fingers, the slivers were painful, but he could fix those himself. He began pulling out pieces of wood using his teeth.

Raychel fingered another bag of rich blood in her hands, stroking it with her fingertips. "I should have told you what I had become. It wasn't right for me to do that." She replied softly. She really felt guilty about tackling him like that. She obviously hurt him. It was an instinct now that Raychel was just going to have to learn to control.

"I don't blame you for not doing so," said Zelphar, spitting out a piece of wood he had pulled from his fingertip with his front teeth. Vampires were on the outskirts of magical society, the ministry wanted them all killed, not to mention the distrust wizards had for them. "I won't tell anyone by the way," Zelphar added, and then sucked on his slowly bleeding finger a moment.

Raychel immediately smelled the blood. She tore open the bag she was holding and quickly downed it, hoping to take Zelphar's scent away from her for a few moments. She left a little and kept her nose above the bag in order to distract herself. At Zelphar's response, she breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you." She replied, voice wavering.

Zelphar nodded, sitting up. He couldn't hold back a gasp of pain, it obviously wasn't a good idea in his condition, but it wasn't bad, just a discomfort, that was all. One last glance at his fingers told him that he had gotten all the splinters of wood out and they had stopped bleeding for the most part, although the skin where they had been was red with irritation.

When Raychel could no longer catch or keep Zelphar's scent, she downed the rest of the bag. She tossed the empty bag aside and looked up at Zelphar as she bent over to pick another up. "Thank you." she repeated. She couldn't believe this boy was going to keep her secret. They had just met, he saved her, she was a monster, and had tried to kill him. And yet, he was going to keep her secret. Raychel was forever in his debt. "If there is anything I can ever do for you Zelphar, just name it." she replied. "I mean it."
