Gabriella nodded slowly as she sipped some more firewhiskey. It was the only thing that tasted good to her, so she never even bothered to eat regular food, except when a bunch of people were watching. "Yeah, roller coaster rides again," Gabriella replied, vaguely thinking of her own job. She loved everything except the massive crowds that made her thirst for blood.

Emily gave a small nod, then down all but a few sips of her mead. She loved the stuff, it beat out butterbeer any day. She thought vaguely of their father. Imagining the expression upon his face. It would turn red, almost as red as his hair, then purple, like badly mixed black currant ice cream. Then he would yell.

Gabriella gave a very small nod as a reply, trying to think of a topic for conversation, but found that she couldn't really say anything. She finished off the bottle of firewhiskey, briefly wondering if she should order another one. Emily probably wouldn't care, but Gabriella had been saving.

Emily didn't even bother to go after her pretzels again. If she forced herself to eat anymore food, she might get sick. This was fine with her, getting thinner, she had no problem with losing a couple of pounds. "Just for laughs, what do you think Dad would do if he could see us right now?" said Emily.

Gabriella chuckled softly at the thought, it was quite an amusing one. "Oh he would turn red, then purple, then start yelling," Gabriella replied. "First at you for drinking, then at me for not being responsible and letting you drink while I'm drinking." She laughed a little at this, thinking this was a pretty accurate reaction for her father.

"Ah," said Emily, grinning widely. "But let us not forget the "I'm grounding you until menopause!" rant too, or does he not give you that?" That had been some of the content of her last quarrel with her father. Along with two death-threats, seven "I can't believe you're my daughter"s, and at least nineteen "Shut up!"s until Hermione had broken it up.

Gabriella burst into all-out laughter at this last comment. "Yes, I do believe he said that to me once," she replied as her laughter subsided. "But let's not forget the part where we argue you back and then the inevitable: Goddamnit, you're not your mother!"

Emily laughed with Gabriella as well, their father, although she hated him, could be funny when he argued with her. "I haven't gotten those yet," Emily commented. "I usually get the "Shut up, dammit! You don't know what's good for you and if you want to shoved to the streets, by all damn means, keep talking!" phrase."

Gabriella laughed again at this remark, her eyes glittering a bit. "Oh yes, that's one of the better ones," Gabriella replied. "Usually I just keep going. I don't think he has it in him to actually kick one of us out."

"Of course not, under all the angry stuff, there's a nice guy in there." said Emily with a smirk, this was a side she had not seen since she was ten. "Now, if I came home four months pregnant, that might be a different story." This would never happen, but it would be scary to think about what would happen if it did, because Hermione would get angry as well.

Gabriella nodded at this. "Yeah, he would murder you with a knife," Gabriella replied with a smaller smile. Hermione would probably get mad too, but only if it was one of her daughter's faults that they were pregnant. If they were raped or something, it would probably be a different story.

"Tisk, tisk," Emily said teasingly, shaking her head. "You're probably right, he would stoop so low as to killing his daughter and unborn grandchild." She finished off the rest of her mead, she would switch to butterbeer next. She needed to be alert for the rest of her shift.

Gabriella chuckled slightly and then the waitress came back over. "I'll have another firewhiskey," Gabriella said briefly. It wasn't like she had anything to lose. If anything, the firewhiskey would make her more alert for the rest of the night. The waitress nodded and looked to Emily.

"I'll switch to water now, thanks." said Emily, then examined her burns as the waitress took their glasses to be cleaned. She shouldn't have drank mead to begin with, she was probably going to be three times as likely to burn herself now. Emily shoved a pretzel into her mouth.

Gabriella nodded to the waitress and gave her a few coins before she left with their empty glasses. Gabriella looked back at her sister, remembering what they had been talking about. That conversation seemed about over, the waitress had just been an easy ending. "Aren't you glad we got out of going home for the holidays?" Gabriella asked with a smile.
