"Hopefully," said Emily, examining the wound that had been made by the rose thorn. IT was a rather trivial one, it had already scabbed over. It didn't even hurt anymore. Emily had thick skin on her hands, she got burns and cuts all the time.

Gabriella nodded slowly, feeling that she subject was ending now. She thought for a moment of what to say, but her mind was a bit on the dull side today. She walked in silence for a few moments, ignoring the blood smell from her sister, that was slightly stronger than anyone else's.

Emily didn't like the silence, not one bit. She was a talker, but for one in her lifetime, she had no idea of what to say. Skim her brain, pick a random subject... Ah, yes, the Tournament. She could discuss it freely with Gabriella, but even a mention of it around Angel and she would start crying. "The Tournament, when is the first task?" said Emily.

Gabriella's face scrunched up slightly as she thought, trying to remember. Let's see, it was early November now, the task was in mid-November. "A few days, I think," Gabriella replied. "I wonder what it will be. I hope nothing too dangerous, because Angel will go crazy if it is."

"She's already fraught with worry, I don't think it's possible for her to fret any more than she already does," Emily said with a frown. Poor Angie. Wolfgang was the world to her. Emily was currently single, but if she had a boyfriend and he was in the Tournament, she would be just as worried.

Gabriella shook her head, a slightly teasing look on her face. "Oh, she can fret more," Gabriella replied, being quiet serious now. Gabriella's thoughts turned to Isaac. She didn't know how she would cope if he was in the Tournament. Thankfully, he wasn't.

Emily didn't argue with this, Gabriella and Angel were pretty much best friends. And it wasn't that Emily wasn't on good terms with her cousin, it was just that her older sister was on much better terms with her. Gabriella seemed to be able to handle frequently hanging around at the library. Emily needed to be able to talk at a tone above a whisper. "I guess she could," said Emily.

Gabriella nodded quite seriously now. "Oh yes, Angie could fret much, much more," Gabriella replied. Poor Angel, she always seemed to be in need of a swim or a firewhiskey these days. Gabriella wished she could do something to help, but Angel was very independent.

Emily didn't really like the subject at hand, she felt sort of guilty talking about her cousin behind her back, but she worried about her because she worried far more than any normal person did. Emily remembered the panic-attacks that Angel used to get, she would be in the hospital wing a lot. She wanted off the topic, but was unsure of how to change it.

Gabriella could sense the awkwardness coming from her younger sister, and decided to change the subject away from Angie. "So, who do you think will win the whole Tournament?" Gabriella asked. Personally, she hoped it was Wolfgang or Ryan, but she didn't really know if either of them would win.

"I'm betting on Wolfgang or Ryan," said Emily, sticking her hands in her pockets, since she had neglected to don gloves. "Both the Beauxbatons champions are underage, they don't have as much education backing them up." Personally, she liked Wolfgang a lot better than Ryan, she hoped he would win.

Gabriella nodded slowly, but a scary thought was haunting her now. "Yes, I've heard that they're underage as well," she replied. "But I've also heard that the girl champion's parents and best friend died last year. That's got to put a pretty strong drive inside of someone."

Emily shook her head in sympathy. "Poor girl, if it would have been me I would have killed myself a long time ago." said Emily. She was a bold person, but she didn't know how she would be able to cope with one loss, let alone several. Then again, her Uncle George had died last year, but he lost his liking for her when she was sorted into Slytherin.

Gabriella nodded her sympathy as well. Perhaps she wouldn't have gone to such extremes, but she would be the type to hunt down the killers. "I do wonder what's been going on over there," Gabriella said aloud. "They don't say much, the French press."

"Over-achiever," Emily mumbled with a bit of a grin on her lips. It would be like Gabriella to subscribe to a French newspaper, instead of waiting for fuller coverage in the Daily Prophet. There, that was an alternative if she didn't get the required grades to be an Auror, a reporter.
