Angel sat before the mirror, she was going to break a rule- No, a law. Today, she was not going to act like Angel at all, and it would be great. She was going to give herself a makeover. Of course, she would leave her hair at its length (God forbid she cut it, Wolfgang loved her long hair). But quite frankly, Angel was fed up with being called stupid because of her blonde hair. And there weren't many blondes in Ravenclaw anyways. At least not natural ones. Angel was going to try a trait from the Weasley side of the family that sort of... Skipped over her. Red hair. Bright, vivid, but natural red. They weren't allowed to do magical outside of school, but since she lived in a magical house, there was no telling who performed the spell. As an extra safety measure, Angel borrowed her mother's wand. She performed the spell, and now her hair was bright red. Angel looked at herself and smiled. She then crept back to where her mother usually kept her wand, then stashed it there. Just then, the doorbell rang. Angel walked quietly down the hall, newly red hair swishing about her, then peered through the peep-hole in the door, only to see...

Gabriella, standing outside, waiting for her to open the door. Slowly the door creaked open and she gasped to see Angel with vivid red hair. "Nice look, Ang!" she commented, stepping inside without really asking. "Aren't you going to get in trouble, though?"

Angel smiled mischievously. "Mum and dad won't be too happy, but since I live in a house where there are two other people of age, there's no telling who actually did the spell." Angel said matter-of-factly. This was true. If the ministry could tell exactly who performed the spell, there would have already been an owl at the Potter home.

"Good point," replied Gabriella. "Tell them I did it or something. I've been using magic pretty much all summer anyway. Everything's so much easier now. Except tree climbing...that hasn't changed!" Gabriella grinned widely, still looking at Angel's hair. It was such a change, and it was still shocking her.

"Alright, they still won't be happy, but I guess there will be no punishing for that..." Angel said, trailing off. She ran her fingers through her newly red hair. She loved the rich color, it made her look so different. Wolfgang did like her hair blonde... Oh well, Angel couldn't please him all the time. "What shall we do with the day?" asked Angel.

Gabriella pondered this for a moment. "Let's climb that tree again, because I've got something to tell you..." Slowly, Gabriella began to smile mischeviously, thinking of her new boyfriend, Alec, and their scheduled date in a few nights.

"Alright." said Angel, taking a rubber band from her wrist and tying her hair up in a messy bun with it. Her parents were currently out with her two younger siblings, but just in case if they got back before Gabriella and herself, Angel grabbed a pad of paper and a pen and wrote a note on it with her neat cursive. Mum & Dad,
Went out with Gabby, I'll be back in time to cook dinner.
Love you,
Angel "Let's go then." said Angel, turning back to her favorite cousin, grinning.

"Excellent," replied Gabriella. She had told her mother that she was going out so there would be no Ron trying to find her. Gabriella turned around and jogged down Angel's driveway, her long hair flying behind her. She turned around to make sure Angel was coming.

Angel jogged to keep up, although she had to run to keep up with her vampire cousin. It was difficult. "Gabs! Slow down!" Angel said breathlessly when she had caught up. She stopped, her hair was slipping from the rubber band. Impatiently, Angel reached up and tightened it.

Gabriella laughed. She loved to run, almost as much as she loved climbing trees. "Alright, alright!" she replied, pulling a ponytail holder from her wrist and hoisting her hair up into a hight ponytail. "Ready to climb?" she asked as she began to walk towards the woods.

"Sure." said Angel, tightening her messy bun once more. She was probably unrecognizable, although all she had done to herself was dye her hair. She looked up at the familiar tree she had climbed last summer. It was the exact same one. There was something different about it, though. A muggle had carved in initials of two people. "A. L. + D. F." were the initials, with a heart etched around them. Angel rolled her eyes and began to climb.

Gabriella stared at the initials for a moment. She had always wondered why muggles did that. Shaking her head slightly, she pulled on the first branch and hoisted herself onto it with the ease that was hardly natural. Giving Angel a small grin, she continued doing this up the tree.

Angel climbed until she reached the point where if the branches got any thinner, they would not be able to support her weight. She nestled herself on that branch, leaning against the wide trunk of the tree. Her muscles were sore from the climb. Outside of Quidditch, Angel had no athletic abilities whatsoever.

Gabriella was above her, but dropped to the branch directly to Angel's right. "I love this tree," she commented, smiling fondly. It was indeed a good tree for climbing; they had nearly gone all the way to the top before the branches had thinned out.

"It seems so... Historic." Angel said, leaning even more against the trunk. She was careful to not look to the ground, when not on a broomstick, Angel feared heights. She was an odd sort of person... She happily pondered how old the tree was. Could it be fifty, perhaps even a hundred years old? Maybe even older than that...
