"I'll have a butterbeer, please," Jenna said to the girl working at the bar who nodded and set the bottle in front of her. Jenna thanked her and paid for the drink, plus tip. She was to be meeting Luke here tonight and Jenna had news to share with him. She had only found out two days ago that she was pregnant with his baby.

One of her colleagues had done the test, but Jenna didn't want to hear if it was a boy or a girl, or even twins, so the other healer hadn't told her. She hoped that Luke would be pleased, he had always liked kids. Jenna hoped they could have the wedding soon as well. She wanted something small, as far as she was concerned, they could just elope. But she knew that Luke would want something for a wedding.

Jenna sipped her butterbeer slowly, waiting for Luke to arrive. She wouldn't tell him at first, she wanted to talk about the wedding before that. But she wanted Luke to know as soon as possible that she was expecting. It wasn't exactly the greatest time to be having a child, but Jenna had always loved kids. The door to the Three Broomsticks opened and Jenna turned around, butterbeer in hand.

Luke opened the door to the Three Broomsticks, excited to talk to Jenna tonight. He wanted to take her around Europe and find a place to get married. Luke was sick of England and all the trouble surrounding Isabelle. It would be nice to get away for a while. And besides, he had always wanted to travel.

"Hello dear," Luke said with a grin and gave Jenna a kiss on the forehead. He ordered a firewhiskey, wondering why Jenna had chosen a butterbeer tonight. Usually she didn't hesitate to have a bit of alcohol. They were adults, after all. "How's the job?" Luke asked, hoping to make a bit of conversation before he asked her if she wanted to travel Europe with him. Luke especially wanted to go to France and Italy, he thought that would be amazing.

Jenna grinned at the sight of her fiance. She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before answering his quesiton. "Busy," Jenna replied with a slight shrug. "But it's rewarding, so I like it." Jenna just loved to help people, so being a Healer was a good choice for her. She was glad that she had gotten the position without having to go through much training. Her NEWT scores had certainly helped her out.

Luke smiled at this, he knew that Jenna was great at helping people. He figured she could find work wherever they travelled, assuming that Jenna wanted to travel with him, of course. Luke was silent for a moment, taking a swig of his firewhiskey. "I was wondering," he said after a minute or so, "would you like to travel Europe with me before we get married? I've always wanted to and I think it would be fun to take like a year off from all this craziness and just relax."

Jenna paused. He wanted to take a year off to travel around Europe? Well, she certainly hadn't been expecting that. Jenna chose her words carefully, not wanting to upset Luke. "I don't know," she said slowly. "I don't really think that now is a good time to leave, what with my job and everything going on in the Order." Jenna bit her lip slightly, for once not knowing at all how Luke would reply.

Luke froze. He had thought that Jenna would be enthusiastic about the idea, she had always supported him before. "You don't know?" he echoed, his voice softer. Luke paused for a moment before continuing. "But aren't you sick of all this chaos?" he asked, his voice stronger now. "You always seem so tired, I thought you would want to get away for a while."

"No, no," Jenna said quickly, hoping he wasn't mad. She hated fights, or any sort of conflict in general. "It would be lovely to get away, but not for a year. I like it here, all our friends are here, we have jobs here, obligations. We can't just pack up and leave." Jenna's voice became more high pitched toward the end of her speech, almost desperate.

Luke didn't hear the desperation in Jenna's voice, he only heard the words that he didn't want to hear. Luke didn't want to be tied down in England, he wanted to get away. "Why the hell not?" Luke argued, raising his voice a bit more. When Jenna was speaking, he had downed the entire firewhiskey bottle. "It's not like we're doing anything here for the Order!" Luke rose to his feet, a bit angry now.

Jenna gripped the butterbeer bottle tightly, becoming nervous now that Luke seemed so angry. She was unaccustomed to seing him this way. "Yes we are, the Order needs every new person they can get," Jenna said, fighting to keep her tone calm and rational. "We can't just go off on our own at a time like this!" Jenna knew that part of her rational was that she was pregnant, but she hadn't planned on telling Luke like this.

"Sure we can!" Luke said, nearly yelling at this point, not caring that the whole bar could have heard. It was empty except for the bartender, who had gone into the breakroom. So the bar area was entirely empty anyway. "We're adults, we can do what we want!"

"No, we can't!" Jenna said, her voice rising as well. They were silent for a moment, glaring at each other. Jenna took a deep breath to steady herself. "I don't see how we can expect to get married if we can't even agree on what we want," she said, her voice low now.

"No, I don't see how we can get married either, when clearly we have nothing in common," Luke said, his tone cold. He knew he was exaggerating, but at the moment he hardly cared. He wasn't exactly angry at Jenna, but he was angry that she wouldn't go with him, which was close enough. "Maybe we should just stop seeing each other," he added flatly.

Jenna was shocked by Luke's words, but she refused to let herself show it. She pushed herself up from the bar stool. "Maybe we should," she said. Jenna was testing Luke a bit. She didn't think that he would really leave her. No, Luke wouldn't do that, they would figure this out. But something in the back of her head was worried. What if they didn't?

"Fine, if that's how you feel, then goodbye Jenna," Luke said, his tone loud once more. Truthfully he was hurt, but he wouldn't let her know that. Luke was too mad to care and he stormed out of the bar, Apparating a couple of seconds after her got outside. He knew it was over.

"Fine!" Jenna screamed, following him out the door. "Just leave! Leave and don't come back!" Tears came to her eyes, but Luke was already gone. The realization of what had happened hit her and she slumped to the ground against the building. What had she done?

Angry and frustrated, Jenna flung her engagement ring as far away as she could, not bothering to watch as it rolled in the dirt. She wouldn't go find it. And then a new wave of sobs came over her. She pushed her palms into her eyes, trying to make her tears stop and make sense of everything that had just happened. Jenna didn't notice that someone new was approaching.
